Just Tried The TU Beta

i just tried it for the first time and honestly its disgustingly bad and i hate Reach for it, its just a spamfest now. I don’t see how people can possibly like this i just cant.

Does anyone feel the way i do i cant be the only one seriously…

I’d say its just a lot more faster-paced, for the most part. Some parts of the sandbox are really underused though.

It’s not really spamming, since there is a set rate of fire. BUT that RoF definitely needs to be decreased lol, you can shoot way too fast for zero bloom.

I had similar thoughts, for 85% at least, and after adjusting its pretty good

How many times do we have to tell you people. Its not spamming its shooting!!! Seriously has anybody played a halo game besides Reach?

lol, it’s not spamming when there is no bloom.

It’s like going into halo 3, shooting your br as fast as possible, and calling it “spamming”. Yes, the pistol Rof is too much, but zero bloom on the dmr is awesomesauce

I just can’t stand the pistol now. I really hope that the OP pistol is limited to classic CEA game modes. Besides that, it’s really not that bad. Zero Bloom isn’t as fun as 85% though. There’s too much spamming in ZB.

EDIT: @Toxic and others, spamming has nothing to do with whether there’s bloom or not. Spamming is the act of rapidly pulling the trigger. That’s like hypothetically saying “Oh, grenade damage was turned down. Now there’s no such thing as grenade spam”. No. If you and your team mates ricochet 8 grenades at the start of a game on Zealot, that is spam regardless of the damage it may do. ZB is pretty much whoever can pull the trigger faster (as long as you’re half decent at aiming). “Spammers” still shoot just as fast as they did with bloom, only now they can actually hit you better.

No one ever called shooting spamming until Reach. Go and play halo 3 at a high level. Grenades will be thrown like they are going out of style.

You obviously don’t understand the problem with spamming in Reach’s default settings then if you’re complaining about people being able to hit you better in ZB whilst still spamming.

Spamming weapon fire has never been a problem in Halo before Reach. The reason why it’s a problem in Reach and not any other Halo is because Reach has bloom. The idea of bloom was that if you ‘paced’ you’d become, as Bungie puts it, “a more deadly soldier”. Bloom was meant to separate the pros from the noobs. If you kept a cool head in the heat of battle and paced accordingly you’d come out as the victor and the panicky ‘spammer’ was meant to be doomed to fail. In reality though bloom didn’t separate the pros from the noobs as a ‘noob’ was able to kill a ‘pro’ if he spammed. Spamming with bloom results in the spammer’s shots being random and if the spammer was lucky he’d land a 5-shot on the person doing the correct thing, pacing (it’s faster to spam 5 shots than it is to pace 5). This is why people complain about spamming in Reach. It’s random and allows the lesser skilled player to kill the superior player. DMR battles became a game of rolling die.

ZB fixes the random factor associated with bloom. Spamming’s no longer a problem when bloom’s not involved because the superior player always comes out on top as your shots are always accurate; the player with the better aim wins.

I played one game of ZB Slayer and I hated it immediately. It isn’t Halo: Reach.

You’re right. It’s Halo (almost)!

This

No, spamming isn’t just about doing something quickly but about doing it quicker than normal/intended.

The DMR has a capped rate of fire, the rate of firing is always the same and always intended to be at that speed, so it is simply shooting. At no point do you ever fire faster than normal.

The only reason you consider it spamming is because you have the assumption that the “normal” rate of fire is slower than it is now. But that assumption is only based on your experiences of Reach. You cannot make the direct comparison from vanilla Reach to ZB, they are not the same thing.

that right spamfest. Now thers no skill what so ever ppl who like this can not adopt to a new game.

This. Reach isn’t Halo, it was an attempt at a different style of gameplay. The majority of people seemed to think that bloom made the game worse. I agree. In fact, spamming was worse with bloom, because spammers were rewarded with kills, while people who paced would be killed by randomness. Now, everyone can fire the same rate, so it rewards whoever has the better aim like Halo should. People who like bloom only like it because they suddenly found out that they can’t aim well.

There are some changes I like, I just hate no bloom the most. I will deal with the rest now, just please keep 85% or normal bloom.

I have exactly the same problem.

This is whats abit frustrating, The new TU Beta is giving new players a bad taste of ZB with the glaringly terrible balance of the pistol as a secondary on spawn, coupled with the slow movement speed and default maps not designed for ZB and you have a really bad experience.

Beta’s are treated like Demo’s nowadays…
