Just to point out about CSR...

I noticed there are many people complaining about it not being visible in game, and i understand that it is a deal to others but…

is everyone forgetting there is the app to Waypoint on the main menu?

Probably? I don’t know. I think they’re just whining because they can’t brag at anyone with a lower score than them mid-game without having to check somewhere else.

I contest the fact that most players want to see how others stack up. Rarely do you have enough time to go through every player before the match starts, not to mention that JIP wont allow you to see it anyway.

Example:

I look at players K/D ratios in lobby, it wont even show everyone until the roster is full. Same thing if the CSR was visible. Unless it was directly posted on the player card, then I could see it working.

There is, but do you consider it convenient to have to leave Halo 4, go to Waypoint through your Xbox, check your CSR there, then have to start Halo 4 back up and then start playing again?

I think for convienience sake it would be so much easier to just make it visible in-game, that way you don’t have to stop playing for 10 minutes just to go check your CSR.

I think it’s convenient that I have my xbox right next to my computer and just turn the screen to check my CSR and my team mates right there. You can do the same with a laptop, or a smartphone, or a tablet.

Now if you don’t have one of these or your computer is somewhere else in the house (no idea why), then you have a legit reason to complain.

My Xbox and computer are in two seperate rooms and I don’t have a Smartglass enabled device that would allow me to view my CSR on a phone or tablet. But that’s not even the reason I dislike CSR being on Waypoint only. You still can’t argue against it being more convienient to just have it in the game. Your computer may be near your Xbox, but it would still be quicker if it was just in the game’s menu.

Also, it being only viewable on Waypoint completely defeats the purpose of a 1-50 ranking system. There are already apps and websites that track this stuff for you like Halotracker, but people don’t care to use them. Why? It’s not convienient and the purpose of a 1-50 rank is to know that you are facing people of similar skill, with how CSR will work we’re just going to have to trust that we’re matched up against people of similar skill since it would be annoying to go look up all those people in the lobby in the 15 seconds you get before the game starts.

The only legitimate reason for not having it visible in game is to reduce boosters and cheaters, but that already happens. The way Halo 4 is set up, people who boost for XP actually get rewarded for doing so in the form of new weapons and Support upgrades. With people who boost for a 50 rank all they get is that rank and nothing more, plus when it comes time for them to actually have to prove it against a legit 50 they will get destroyed.

There are ways 343i could have the rank be visible and not have people boost, but they’re choosing the easier way of doing things by making it visible only on Waypoint. So basically, a few bad apple’s ruined the bunch and now the people who weren’t boosting in Halo 2/3 are being punished along with the people who actually were boosting. 343i’s not going to win anymore fans over with that logic, they’re essentially punishing people who didn’t do anything wrong to begin with just because a few people did boost in Halo 2/3.

Is it possible that your CSR might not be current right after a game? Is your CSR something that you need to see right after every match? You’ll probably drive yourself crazy doing that.

I understand the point of convience but you guys get what i am saying, its still somewhat easier accessible than having to constantly pull and boot up your laptop. Well for me it is.

IMO, Make the CSR visible in certain playlists. That way, players who don’t care about a visible system can go and play playlists without the hassle of the CSR while players who care about it can go into their playlists and see it.

Everybody’s happy. 343 get praise. I get to play Halo 4 fairly.
