Not to re-post a topic that was locked but I just wanted to make sure everyone understands. You can lock this if you want after this post, as long as its here for people to read and understand.

A ban on 360’s would only mean a ban on NEW 360’s being sold, and that would only be until they changed their hardware or else ways had the ban lifted. This does not mean that they will come take your 360 out of your house OR that they will prohibit you from playing Xbox Live. They can not punish those who have already purchased 360’s without knowledge of the patent infringement, they can only punish Microsoft by banning NEW 360 sales and charging a fee for all UNSOLD 360s utilizing the hardware in question. Therefor, since Halo 4 is designed for the 360, anyone who already owns a 360 will be able to purchase halo 4 and play it with no problem regardless of weather there is a ban on 360 purchases.

Since pretty much 99.99999999% of the population that will be getting Halo 4 already own a 360 this will not really hurt Halo 4 sales in a significant way. I mean who goes and buys a 6 year old console solely so that they can purchase the fifth game in a series? I mean perhaps if it was the first game in a series OR if it was coming out on a NEW console THEN this would effect the sales in a major way but in this situation it really shouldnt hinder Halo 4 sales in a major way.

I’m in the process of merging the other thread with the original one. The thread broke so it’s just taking a few extra minutes.
