The whining over online play will not stop ever. ever.
EVER. EVER. EVER.
Halo 2 comes out: OMG the whining was legendary. THE PROS HAVE BEEN SPAT ON! It was around this time Bungie hired Jerome and started security night shifts I believe. Fast forward and there was apparently nothing wrong with it?
Halo 3 comes out: whining, its not like Halo 2, BR doesnt work, omg bubble shield took my kill wah wah wah. Has also since mysteriously become a template for the perfect game.
Reach comes out: OMG new things! A halo game is substantially different for my money this time! I have to learn new skills! This is an outrage! I am aggrieved on a personal level by this insult to my g0d skillz0rs!
Halo 4 not even close to out: Just take a look at the H4 forum. Do i need to elaborate?
Its an unending cycle. What whinging has been, is, and will be again, forever and ever.
They cant be bargained with, they cant be reasoned with. They dont feel logic or humility or perspective.
And they absolutely will not stop. EVER. Until you are bored and miserable.
No this is not a serious thread, but i feel better now. No flamewars plz
Somebody also put up a great notion that “If everything that was in Reach actually started with Halo CE and eventually started ‘taking them away’, the community would be on a complete 180*.”
Mainly due to Sprint which should’ve been a STANDARD feature since CE.
Don’t tell me you actually think competitives think Halo 3 is the perfect game? It is only slightly better than Reach, but worse than ZBNS Reach.
And I am with you KCN frenzy!!! We need to start just accepting everything we are told without asking questions. We need to start blindly following the lemmings closer to the edge of the cliff!
Whining will never end. You are correct on that one.
I do want to point out that constructive feedback is not whining. A broken algorithm, or game aspect, should be mentioned, along with a possible fix.
The frame rate issues with some maps have been fixed, Delta Facility is being worked on to stop similar issues, etc. Not because of whining, but because people who cared posted it as a fixable issue, and posited some ideas on how to handle it.
Constructive feedback is A OK. Whining is different. You even get constructive feedback that quickly descends into whining because it becomes a case of stating your personal preference over and over again. There is definitely too much of one and not enough of the other on this site.
Worse yet, in my opinion, is when the game developers respond to the whining, with a futile hope of stopping it. Change things when it makes sense (e.g., to eliminate glitches, fix map errors, permit people to use their DLC, etc.) and not just based on reacting to forum whining. The reasons for the changes need to be thought out carefully, and playtested first when needed and possible. Otherwise, we get flip-flopping. E.g., one month bleedthrough and Squad Slayer are removed, next month they are back because of whining based solely on one’s preferences being stepped upon.
Its been a learning experience for 343i. Christ, if youre going to pander to a set of people, at least pander to the set that are actually capable of being satisfied with the game…
^It’s funny though, since the TU was the best thing that happened to Reach, in my perspective. You can give me all the reasons in the world why it’s not, it all comes down to enjoyment. You don’t/didn’t enjoy the TU, I did, I don’t enjoy Vanilla, you do.
But hey, I understand. Bungie made one game that everyone enjoyed, and then they made three which only one side enjoys. Now 343 is going to keep that trend going with even more games that only one side enjoy.
Why do people complain? Jesus, third world citizens should just except that their lives are what they are and they should absolutely not strive to change things for the better, because whining is bad. You should help those that already consume more than what this globe can take and give them even more “perks”.
And constructive criticism? Please, you have been given that for the last 5 years, at the very least. That of course gets disregarded though since the game is “moving forward”, I’ve seen dozens of great threads made by Matt Grimes for example, against sprint but that again gets -Yoink- on since that is not moving forward and makes the gameplay less enjoyable, apparently. Moving forward I take it means removing everything that actually worked for most people, and replace it with just bad implements?
I have wanted to post this for years and I agree with you sooooo much, I just chalked it up to be what it was just like you did. Everyone got a a**hole but everybody doesn’t need to be one, and just another thought instead of all the noob complaining how about some solutions/ideas. Just a thought to give to all the haters in halo forums.

its hard to express the level of dissatisfaction I have with the title update. Giving me bleed through then taking it away… I would have been happier had bleed thru never been part of it… Now I can’t but hope it comes back
Hey i enjoyed every halo lots thank you very much. But i appreciate a change.

Yeah that fits nicely with the part I said about perspective #firstworldproblems
