Why are we still fighting the covenant and more importantly elites who are meant to be on our side or were at the end of halo 3?
Also who are the new enermys and what’s there beef?

At the end of Halo 3, only a handfull of Elites(with The Arbiter) were actually part of the truce with the humans. And the Covenant had disbanded. But afterwards, a group of Elites called the Servants of Abiding Truth set out to kill the Arbiter, and continue the war on humanity. I’m not sure if they succeed in killing Arby, but they do seem to succeed in creating a new Covenant.
Well at least there more fun to kill than the brutes.
That group of Covenant had they’re ship sucked in just like the Infinity, so the Elites had no outside comunication, just like so of the Japs after WWll.
