Just saying h5>>>>>>>infinite

Try selling that to the South Koreans who have basically made Starcraft their national sport, and we’ll see how well that goes.

Actually, there’s a fundamental difference there, bud. World of Warcraft is a different title entirely, and while it continues the story of Warcraft as is, it is denoted with its difference as “World of Warcraft.” Were there to be a Warcraft 4, in whatever format that takes, it would be an RTS. In a similar vein to how the canceled Starcraft Ghost was a spin-off and the mainline Starcraft games were Starcraft-Starcraft: Brood War-Starcraft 2:WOL,HOTS,LOTV. All of which are RTS games. Funny that.

And again, just because it looks like the thing, that doesn’t matter to how the game plays. World of Warcraft is not Warcraft. Warcraft is an RTS. World of Warcraft is an MMORPG. Your attempt at a semantics argument falls a bit… Limp.

Also, as @Trand0 says,

Anyway, I feel like we’ve gotten a little off base, so let’s pull it back.

The primary issue with Halo 4 and 5 was that their gameplay style was clearing attempting to be not Halo. Gameplay and the style therein denotes what is commonly identifiable to that game. Halo, as defined by 1-3, was a classic-style of Arena Shooter. Halo 4 was attempting to be Call of Duty. Halo 5 wanted to be like Titanfall, with some elements of old Halo games to attempt to appeal to old fans. You can debate this till you’re blue in the face, but you’ll never convince me otherwise that Halo 4 and Halo 5 were attempting to be not-Halo

As a result of this, people often say that Halo lost its roots. And it has. Halo as an arena-style sandbox game attempted to be a loadout shooter, then a movement shooter, and has finally gone back to trying to be an arena-style sandbox shooter and balance mechanics that are familiar to the CoD fanbase. Which hasn’t exactly worked out…

Also, never said that. Don’t put words in my mouth.

No mate. Halo Monopoly is a Halo game, doesn’t matter what you think. It’s got Halo in the title. IDK how you don’t get it. What, do you think a spin off RTS game is not the same thing as a main line FPS. That is ludicrous. As you well know every FPS plays the same. Every RTS plays the same. So clearly, the only thing separating the IP’s are the aesthetic and art style. You can’t tell me that Shadow Warrior 3 and COD play like different games. You know why you can’t? Because they are both FPS games and there fore have no differences in gameplay. Check mate.

H5… yeah, that game where you played as the Master Chief only in like 3 out of 15 campaign missions. What better way to showcase personal priorities and a deep hate for Halo, than outcasting its main protagonist.

Yeah, same with the Halo cook book, what a game that was.

Desync isn’t the only major issue with MIDfinite. MIDfinite by design is an abysmal game. Its campaign is by far the worst one, and it really doesn’t help that people are overrating it (not just the campaign, everything about the game) to death because two words: NOSTALGIA PANDERING. And that needs to stop NOW before the gaming industry digs its own grave that is the size of Jupiter.

MIDfinite’s story… WHERE IS BLUE TEAM AND EVERYONE ELSE?! How much more shallow, nostalgia-blinded, and lackluster can you get with this story? All these years of Reclaimer lore, only to throw it all away just to pander to the people who were whining about H4 and H5 for years?! Beyond absolutely unacceptable!!
Gameplay, art style, soundtrack, weapon sandbox… it’s ALL a criminally huge downgrade from Halo 5. Making this worse is that the fanbase literally thinks that cat ears, bunny ears (!!!), samurai and dieselpunk armor, etc. is A-OK but H5’s armor designs are not, and that only further serves to invalidate the community!
Monetization and progression… please do NOT get me started on it!

And besides, I don’t really care about Chief anymore - at this point he has way long overstayed his welcome and it’s way past time he passed the torch onto someone else… preferably not Locke though (I don’t hate Locke BTW).

this game has a lot of super fans who would be pro infinite even if it was 1 game mode and a million store cosmetics

halo 5’s story got axed halfway through development- halsey was gonna be the OG villain, but marketing said nobody knew who she was, so cortana would be the better villain.

Locke is a boring character. We see more development from chief in halo 1 than locke gets with superior budgeting for writing and screentime. We have no real sense of connection to him, aside from the fact he’s just kinda a nose-to-grindstone follows-all-orders puppet. They shoulda used Buck as the protagonist, or kept the rookie alive so we could have two characters that fit the strong silent type on opposite sides of some fight.

But honestly

The making them fight bit was hella dumb. Spartans kinda slapboxing each other. Masterchief not merking the dude with a slap must’ve been a challenge.

Marketing for h5 is braindead and doesnt know how to do research then if thats the case. Anyone into halo halo prob knows Halsey and at the very least they could of done a half introduction about her in h5 and gone that path. would of been far better then villainizing cortana and getting rid of her

as far as i know they could make anything up and i just be along for the ride but the problem i see with 343s games is everything happens so fast. as i said 4 cortana dies, 5 back to life and evil, and infinite shes dead Again and so is atriox, wtf!!!
