Just saying h5>>>>>>>infinite

Compared to it’s contemporaries, Halo 5 was the least “twitch-shooter-iest”; next to CoD, Titanfall, etc, Halo 5 was remarkably the most cumbersome, though not as much as its predecessors.

To that point, if your experience beforehand was limited to only Halo, then Halo 5 could seem just like those games, but I can speak from my own experience that it is incredibly tame, and I played AW and BOIII to death.

Being passionate in creating something doesn’t absolve one from making missteps, in which Halo 5 does have many (and way fewer than people want to admit), but it doesn’t discount their efforts in wanting to make a fun and thorough experience, regardless if not everyone was receptive to it.

All I’m saying is that Halo 5 came off feeling like a more passionate project for 343 Industries, more than Infinite.

Infinite feels like their just ticking the “Make a Halo game” box, and leaving the rest.
The campaign doesn’t tred new ground.
The narrative is unremarkable.
The selling-point of the gameplay is nothing markedly new, but a stripping-down of Halo 5’s.
It launched with the least content and remains to have among the worst post-launch support.

Like. Halo 5’s Forge released forty-two days after launch, and people are still miffed about it.

Infinite is FAR better than Halo 5 in every way, and is what Halo 4 should have been.

I’m glad you like it.

halo’s campaign story was far better. Everything else… it’s hard to describe.

I can point at things i think were bad decisions in halo 5’s campaign, but halo 5’s campaign didn’t leave us in a spot where we really weren’t sure how we got there, or what the significance was.

I do believe halo infinite’s campaign is better, but not by much, and for people who don’t care so much about the narrative, or other questionable choices, it’s not hard to believe that they would enjoy halo 5’s campaign more. Simply put, halo 5’s campaign was fun to play- maybe not every level, but most people had at least a few levels that they loved. Mine was mission 3, btw. Hunters in the wall trying to smash you through the wall as you flee down a corridor in an abandoned ship drives the horror theme up hugely.

EDIT- and now that i think about it? Being able to go back and PICK the levels i liked was also highly enjoyable.

Funnily enough, the only thing Halo 5 was better at was being a live service.

I honestly think both games are monstrosities in their own ways.
I think if I try to be objective, and ignore what “feels like Halo” to me. Halo 5 is probably the more well orchestrated game.
But I’d probably personally have even less fun with H5.

Now that you point it out. Halo 2 probably was better than Halo 2. Well said.

One could say The Cycle is… Infinite

Halo 5s campaign is way better than the what Infinite had to offer. If it were not for the grapple shot, there would be nothing worth talking about when it comes to that campaign.

Puddle deep story, empty open world, one biome, terrible supporting cast. My only complaint about 5 is I would have like to have played as Chief more.

Funnily enough, that’s the way I felt about Halo 5. While both Halo Infinite and 5 use similar mechanics to the Call of Duty of the year, 5’s mechanics are just so… not Halo. If you showed someone the original trilogy, and then showed them 5, they’d probably think 5 was the cheap, off-brand knockoff. There’s a reason games like 5 just don’t release anymore.

The primary issue with 343’s Halo games, is they aren’t going back to the classic style that defined the genre and was a huge innovation on console for FPS mechanics and gameplay. 343 needs to get away from trying to be like Call of Duty and Battlefield, and instead focus on being a good game on its own.

Y’all do realize that the “Call of Duty and Battlefield” mechanic nonsense has been a part of damn near all Modern FPS titles for the last decade or more, right? Like, it’s not just “Halo trying to be CoD”, it is the way FPS games are. Is this gonna go on for another decade?

And if you notice, COD and BF out sell all those modern FPS titles because those game straight up copy them and don’t do anything original. There is a difference in implementing a feature and having the game play just like another game.

I haven’t played Halo 5 since the day after it released, I probably would have played it again by now using Game Pass if it was released on PC but that won’t happen.
To be honest though, I was so livid with Halo 5 on release that I returned it for a refund a day later, it’s also the reason I stopped preordering games altogether.

I still see it as a worse game than Halo Infinite, even though Infinite feels like half the game that Halo 5 was on release, while Halo 5 itself felt like half the game that Halo 4 was on release.

Man… What a mess this decade worth of Halo has been when you look back…

Brother that aint the only thing

I agree, and I didn’t even like Halo 5.

Ayyyyyyyyy gottem.

dude halo infinite uses so much from the old art style im inclined to believe they straight up ported them from halo reach and made them look worse like cheap toys, especially with the vehicles. look at the H5 phantom and infinites, :infinity:s literally looks like its made of legos, 5 looks like a living thing!

everyone has there own opinions on story writing i’ll respect that but don’t you think they’re screwing it up more?
Spoiler Alert!!! past this point!!!

Halo 4, cortana dies im kinda sad, halo 5 shes alive and evil?? kinda gave it a pass because i thought we would learn more about the forerunners from then on. Halo wars 2, didn’t play it but the brutes are back, hype. INFINITE Forget Everything! cortanas dead for realzys, prometheans dead, guardians dead, atriox dead? New Alien who dis? then something about time travel??? you can not convince me they don’t have fan fic writers making this stuff up.

And if you notice, that’s more likely attributed to the fact that they’re cross-platform and have a Multiplayer base. Not because of mechanics that they don’t have a monopoly on and have become commonplace. At some point, there’s only so much innovation that can be done.
