Just remove OS from LSS

It should be the other way around. The powerequipment (AC, OS) should spawn in that gap and the normal equipment (Grapple, Drop Wall, Thrusters, Repulsor) should spawn in the drop pods.

If that were the case, the middle area would be hard camped abusively, and almost 99% of the match would take place in the middle of the map fighting over it or because of the tons of XP Boosts that would drop there. Drop pods work because you never know where it will appear and it becomes musical chairs to who hears it and reacts first closest. You might even have someone run over there hoping for an overshield, but it’s cloaking, and they get killed because it wasn’t an overshield. Happens a lot actually. Either that or they get lucky, and it is an overshield, and they turn around at the people chasing them and destroy them, because they got there first, and the people chasing them goofed up. It’s luck of the draw

Then you have more encounters

Now everybody camps all over the place, because half if the players don’t have those powerequipments and are forced to camp if they don’t want to die imidiately and the other half has such a equipment and are just camping untill they see someone because they don’t want to waist there equipment.

If there is just 1 spot where the powerequipment spawns, people actually have to fight for them (and not just being the lucky one where those kept being dropped next to) and there is only 1 or 2 player(s) with it (with mostly multiple players around him/her), so the rest can still fight without almost knowing their opponent has a powerequipment.

The powerequipments are way to powerfull for FFA. You need to be a realy bad player to lose a firefight with an OS and an AC is literaly invisible and unhearable (you can’t hear footsteps, etc) so that player can easily just ambush players, since they can’t see him. This makes camping the only thing people without them can do now.

Nah, just achilles spine ninja them if they have OS and are close enough, assuming desync doesn’t get you killed. AC is not literally invisible, because otherwise people would never see me walking towards them on occasion. I can see cloaked people very clearly on my 4K 60" tv. Idk what you’re using, but cloaked people just look like they’re made of glass that distorts the background. They’re pretty obvious imo. Maybe if you have a 720p monitor or something small, you won’t see them. I have gotten several Sneak King medals from people that I back smacked when they thought they could escape or be sneaky

Then you are not in a firefight obviously… And half of the players dont have droppods spawning close to them and thus don’t have them.

If you don’t run (i don’t mean sprint here) on full speed, it is invisible. I have been smacked from the front (i had my back against the wall) with no way to see them. They were completely invisible, nothing gave them away (i knew he was close somewhere, because i heared the AC activating, so i was paying close attention).
And i have also been on the other end, where an enemy walked right passed me and i could just backsmack me, because i was literaly invisible to him.

i don’t have a small monitor, but even if i had: that shouldnt even matter, you should still be able to see them then.

Idk man I even watch the rest of the matches if I die, and cloaking is pretty obvious. I don’t think anyone sprints with it. Walking keeps you cloaked and I’ve still seen people even when they’re crouching. They just look like glass. I’ve seen plenty of people waiting for me to walk past them, and they’re crouched by a wall, so I go up to them and melee them first.

They’re about as invisible as Campaign Elites. You can still see them. They’re like a blob of clear slime or ice, with distortion on whatever. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone turn 100% pure invisible. Not even myself. Every time I see someone get killed by a cloaked person in Spectator mode I’m basically yelling at my screen in my head BRO HE IS LITERALLY RIGHT THERE! ARE YOU BLIND? HOW CAN’T YOU SEE HIM?!

I assume it’s a brain thing, like why more and more people are wearing all black in LSS. Your brain automatically ignores anything that doesn’t stand out. It’s just normal for people. If you’re not actively looking for it, you won’t see it.

I’m definitely fine with OS and inviz being in and I’m even okay with pods being random, though I’m okay with if they want to have power-ups spawn add a specific location as well but regardless of the system, I definitely think everyone in the game should know where the pod(s) lands.

They do have specific spots they land in. They never spawn anywhere outside of their specific spots, just like weapon and grenade pads. If you saw a pod, that’s where it can land again. I memorized almost every spot, and 4 spawn in the ruins area. That’s usually where I can find 2 or 3 since people don’t memorize the spots and check occasionally for pods still sitting there

tbh. this mode is held together with duct tape. This mode would be more fun being a 1 life round based mode. When the first person dies, the circle should start closing so that dead people dont have to wait too long for next round. weapons/equipment/grenades should be randomly scattered in the map each match. we could literally spawn with nothing and focus on scavenging because we dont have to worry abouut snowballing becausse we have 1 life unlike the current system with 5 lives.

essentially each round would play like a quick mini battle royale.

Also to keep things interesting, each new round would be worth more points

You can also stack power ups because there’s not enough people in the field. Drop pods are so frequent and in some cases mere meters away from eachother. It’s insane. Atleast put different weapons in the pods. That would make sense

youre forgetting about the snowball effect when people bank the power up. An overshield guy can use his overshield to collect another overshield.

That’s exactly what I do, yes. I stack cloaking and overshield at the same time and pocket a 3rd and look for an enemy or another pod, yeah, that’s the strat. Everyone should be doing that. That’s the whole point of keeping an advantage on your opponents. I also always carry 4 grenades. If you don’t, you’re letting others have the advantage. Do you not also go for the power weapons that spawn in any other mode? You should always go for the powerful stuff first so your enemies can’t have it and use them against you. That’s the whole goal. That’s literally the loading screen tips. It’s FFA survival. You’re SUPPOSED to be selfish and hog all the good stuff.

snowballing is bad design because you have a much better advantage over players respawning and leads to matches being decided too early which people generally find boring.

Going for power weapons in other modes is better balanced as i dont think players are fighting for rockets with rockets.

Just remove OS from LSS ?..

You forgot to say please. :smiling_imp:

Don’t hate the player, hate the game. The Elimination mode should actually be renamed “Overshields and Camos”.

If 343 actually played Halo they would have known that this Power Up farming was going to become an issue, or maybe they actually thought it was a good idea? Who knows what goes on in that company anymore.

OS and Camo should spawn only a couple of times per match and in very specific locations. So ALL players can compete for them fairly. Why does everything in 343’s Halo trilogy have to be so randomly generated and inconsistent?

Even the Grenade placement changes from match to match lol one LSS game, the plasmas that were under the stairs will become Spikes… then next game they are Frags… WTF ? Why can’t 343 be consistent? The same problems are in other gametypes too, like Weapon racks having one weapon or another. It doesn’t make sense lol you can’t teach a player or a dog or ANYTHING new tricks without consistency.

Good to know others share this sentiment.

I agree that they should remove overshield. Maybe replace it with a two-charge grappling hook. I know that would help with getting around the map.

probably too many yes men at the company unwilling to tell someone straight or the higher ups just ignore complaints until theyre attacked on twitter for dumb decisions.

I get the strat, I use the strat. It’s just not fun. It’s also random. I can get 3 OS’s in a row sometimes or 16 AC’s in a row. The other guy/guys don’t want to fight me with OS and I don’t want to fight them. The whole game mode just becomes hiding and not engaging because of the power ups. The mode would be infinitely better if you replaced OS and AC with pod waypoints with power weapons to fight over or other utility items like drop wall and grappleshot. I’d much rather 1v1 a sniper, heatwave, rocket, etc then try fighting someone with OS with a command or BR.

Their is already enough X factors in the match like bad spawns and 3rd parties. The mode could do without OS. It’s FFA, it’s more than likely going to be 1v1. In a team game OS is fine. You can call him out and team shot. In a shrinking arena for FFA is just not fun. Games shouldn’t be won or lost solely based off of who got lucky enough to find the OS.

finding a rare os or inviis would be fun. however i dont think switching them with power weapons will be much difference. iimagine dying just because everyone else found the power weapons and then youre just getting killed over and over by everone else.
