What’s laughable is if 343 did this, everyone would immediately quit playing Halo 4.
Personally, I would have no problems playing another 5 years of Beaver Creek, Midship, Lockout, Colossus, et al.
The ranking system (1-50, based on W/L- AND VISIBLE IN GAME) was perfect, the playlists (Minor/ Major Clanmatch was where it was at) were perfect, the maps were perfect, and the UI (pregame lobbies, etc.) was perfect.
It would be downright stupid if they didn’t make a remake of Halo 2. I’m actually surprised it’s not been remade yet. I guarantee it would be 1 of the best selling games the xbox 360/next gen xbox console ever had.
They would need to change a few things.
Since it would be on a new and improved netcode, it would basically be as if everyone had “host” powers on Halo 2. That is a good thing except that the shotgun and BR were far too powerful on host. They would need a nerf so that they functioned similar to how they did off host.
The BR in was essentially the Halo 4 DMR when you were host. It would need either a damage reduction at range or some spread in order to keep it from being a 1.3 second kill from across map.
Also, the levels of autoaim and aim assist would also need to be adjusted since we are no longer dealing with laggy Xbox 1 servers.
The game is probably going to feel somewhat different because of the upgrade in the netcode but hopefully, 343 will get it right (unlike Halo 4).
