Just purchased XBox gold and cant join matchmaking

I am being told that I must have a valid XBox live connection and ability for multiplayer. I redeemed my code for a 12mo. gold and I still cant get into the matchmaking lists. XBox confirms that I have gold, but Halo 5 seems to have a disconnect. Is there a solution?

Do you have other games that utilize Xbox Live Gold? Try testing them out to see if you’re having issues. If things aren’t going as planned, I recommend doing the following:

  • Hard reset of your Xbox (hold down the power button and wait for it to go silent) - Resetting your console’s MAC address in the settings - Restarting your internet router by turning it off / unplugging it for 10-30 seconds

You can also try logging into your action account online. Then through the Xbox.
