So I just played Halo 4 split screen with my wife and boy was it rough to share the same screen. Not sharing with my wife but we both genuinely disliked the split screen. We forgot how low the quality of the images would be. We just laughed and told each other we don’t mind setting up another TV with console next to each other.
We co-op with multiple TV’s and multiplayer it up with food and drinks. We’ve hosted max eight Xbox 360’s / XB1’s and we still have a great time with friends. We don’t do this often but we still make a point to make an event out of it.
It’s alright to play split screen. But it’s better if you only play campaign and custom games…because for the Matchmaking…you’re gonna need the whole screen for it.

We have two XB360’s and XB1’s. I share gold with my wife so when we purchase digitally, we only have to purchase one copy. We’ve always had two consoles since the original XB. I get a lot player’s miss split screen and understand the frustrations of it being removed.
