Just played my second game ever on controller, went 26K 7D, aim assist isn't OP?

Umm, you are wrong.

Adding 5% to 42% is exactly 47%… what else would it be?

You really are quite basic aren’t you?! :joy:

Just answer one question, how old are you?

There is a formula when it comes to percentages, it’s not as simple as adding two numbers together. Again, it is percentages we’re talking about.

42%+5% (42x1.05) = 44.1%
42%+12% (42x1.12) = 47.0%

It’s actually shots hit vs shots fired but it’s a negligible term difference since they essentially mean the same thing but is how they manage 2 separate counters for those tallys to come up with that % difference it’s more or less how the code has to interpret it so its successful in that algorithm

Im old enough to know you are making really silly mistakes.

%'s are both additive and multiplicative… And yes, it is literally as simple as adding two numbers together. It’s all about context.

If I have 50% of a pie, and my wife has 5% of the pie… and I steal her peice. I would have 55% of the pie.

If I have 50% of a company, and I increase my position by 5%, I would own 52.5%.

However, if I owned 50% of the company, and my friend that owned the other 50% gave it to me, I would have 100% of the company.

Very true! Caught it after posting but let it slide. hahaha!

Edits are allowed my guy dont be ashamed even if it’s just correcting a small spelling mistake after all we are human and the edit is the eraser of our thumbs

You’re either misunderstanding or misinterpreting the data. It’s not 5% of only the hit shots, it’s 5% of all shots. As someone else pointed out the difference between 42 per every 100 shots and 47 per every 100 shots is negligible.

The whole % argument is unbelievably stupid either way though as every player has a unique playstyle and accuracy fluctuates wildly between all of the Halo professional players as they fulfill different roles. Your accuracy is also affected by your opponents playstyle from game to game too. There is also a difference in every sensitivity which people play on. So unless you determine average sensitivity also then the data is already going to be skewed. One would have to assume mnk has a higher average sensitivity than controller based on most games default settings.

All I can say is play a game without aim assist and your accuracy will be ridiculously poor. You can fine tune it some more if the data suggests mnk is at a disadvantage but ultimately you still want the game to be reliable and fun to play. Something that a mouse can achieve but a stick cannot. As I said, playing without aim assist is something you can do in most games and it’s ludicrously difficult compared to using a mouse.

Basic maths at its finest…I feel like we’re educating the Halo community! Even if just 1% of the Halo community learn something today then we will have done our job and should be 100% happy with the job we’ve done! :joy:

Yep accuracy really isn’t an important statistic to be throwing around when you take into account all those variables plus pre-firing angles. I know a certain somebody on here likes to post YouTube videos of pro players and coaches, and even in one recent video it is stated quite clearly that accuracy isn’t something to get hung up about…yet here we are arguing the percentages of accuracy and having to educate people of comparative percentage differences rather than percentage increases. The world has gone mad! :joy:

I refuse to believe conclusions that aren’t based on hierarchical models with well validated priors ; )

It’s already been stated multiple times that controller is better for Halo Infinite. But to think it automatically makes you a good player is simply false, you must be horrid on KBM.

You’re also playing versus low diamond players, which are generally awful players, so we’re not impressed.

Agreed… but that still hurt my feelings

IKR i palyed my ace off took craps on full stacks of plats won 8-9 games out of 10 for my placements and it stuck me in gold 6 when all through h5 i was plat 1-4 after finishing my placements

In this thread, controller users who’ve never used KBM make poor arguments and move goalposts.

What else is new? Do you guys ever stop to think that maybe we’re not out to get you guys and we’re not trying to hinder your gameplay experience. We’re literally just asking for a fair deal. Games icky on KBM, there are distinct and glaring advantages to controller, we want them ironed out. There, simple and easy.

I think all of you need to go back to school.

“Adding” percentages like that does NOT make any sense at all.

A resort has two buildings, one building with 1,000 rooms and one building with 100 rooms.
Now they are renovating the rooms and at one point 42% (or 420 rooms) of the big building and 5% (or 5 rooms) of the small building are finished.
How much of the whole resort is now finished?
I hope nobody here will say 47% LOL

But to help those who are now overwhelmed by such complex mathematical equations here is the solution:

5 rooms plus 420 rooms is 425 rooms - that is the number of finished rooms
100 rooms plus 1,000 rooms is 1,100 rooms - that is the total number of all rooms
1,100 / 425 = 0.3864

So in this case a total of 38.64% of the rooms are finished.
In other words, in this example 42% + 5% actually results in a total of 38.64%

Math is amazing if you know how to use it.

Apples and oranges, my guy. You’re using whole numbers to get your end percentages, E.g. 420 rooms out of 1,000 rooms. Those Halo stats do not mention total shots fired vs total shots landed, so we don’t know those totals which is irrelevant anyway since they list the end results.

Here’s an online calculator…

Is it really that hard for people today to admit they’re wrong? You guys jump to great lengths to try and convince you’re right. This world, smh.

Bottom line, it is NOT just a 5% difference between the two 50th percentiles. It is fact a 12% difference between the two, favoring controller.

Dude just ignore him hes so hard focused on percentage values that no one is paying him mind anymore 2 things
1 our usernames are our gamertag feel free to block whoever you dont want to run into by using the find someone tag
2 if you want to block anyone on here go to their profile click where it says normal and change that to ignored you can then select the option of how long to ignore for I just go for the forever option
Trust me he will keep making the same stale argument about percentage and bullet magnetism all day plus how op aim assist is
