I literally have not touched a controller since the Xbox 360. I have been playing mouse and keyboard for the last 15 years. I just decided to try a controller so I have more of an understanding where controller players are coming from when making their aim assist arguments. Well, it made me truly realize how OP aim assist really is.
Second game of my life on controller, I get 26 kills, 7 deaths, a triple kill, 5 double kills. All of that, plus I didn’t feel like I had to work half as hard to secure the kills as I do on mkb.
Ah yes, two experiences is definitely enough of a control sample to make a valid argument.
Tell me you failed middle school science without actually saying it
The fact that a monkey could pick up a controller and perform well in their first few games should say a lot about how OP aim assist is. Third game went 13 and 6. I should not perform this well on a brand new input.
You’re ranked D1 and P4, so it’s not hard to go 26-7 in Oddball against the players you were matched against (G3, P2, 0.95KD unranked, 0.29KD unranked). The reason it didn’t feel as hard is because you were playing against very low skilled players. Let’s not make a case against aim assist and controller players with misinformation like this.
It is for an input method I’ve never used. I could put my gf who never plays video games on controller and I think she would do alright. No person should be handheld THIS much. Kills on controller are essentially participation trophies.
Regardless of the skill level of the other players, I should have had to work harder for my kills. They want the game to be easy for newcomers because they’re hoping to make money on the cosmetics. The level of aim assist is entirely a handholding mechanic right now.
You’re really clutching at straws trying to claim this is about aim assist…it’s actually quite a pathetic argument. You held the ball for a sum total of 4 seconds and played the game slaying against very low skill players. I’m actually amazed you only ended up with 26 kills tbh.
We won’t mention the training wheels for movement and aiming/flicking on M&K then or else you may feel like having good movement on M&K is actually skillful too

Ok. So OP played slayer during an oddball game against lower skilled players landing him 26 kills and 7 death as well as a loss for his team, so that makes controller aim assist OP.
Granted the aim assist on the controller for PC is noticeable compared to console, but it’s nowhere near the level of AA in other shooters.
You act like I didn’t spend my entire time around the ball getting those kills. I didn’t just run the map aimlessly. Just because I didn’t have carry time doesn’t mean I wasn’t playing obj.
You could be lying or you could be telling the truth. I wasn’t in your game. I don’t know. All I know is you got a similar KD of someone on the losing team who does not play the objective.
As long as we’re giving anecdotes, I go 26 deaths and 7 kills every game despite exclusively using a controller since 2009. Why do I still suck if I have a Microsoft-produced aimbot in my hands while playing?
If his game was in oddball and he is bragging about getting a high K/D… SMH… Yep…like it’s hard to ignore the objective and sit back and farm kills. That is easy to do no matter what input you are using. As a controller player the aim assist in Infinite is very low especially when compared to previous titles. Hopefully they implement input based matchmaking soon so people who have such issue with other inputs can just turn them off.
Its crazy how controller players are so quick to defend aim assist as if it takes skill. If you have ever tried to play a fps on a controller without aim assist, you would see that the computer is doing most if not all of your aiming, in which the line between aim assist and aimbot is very thin. I know that when I went to MKB from controller, playing Modern Warfare 2 I would be lucky to get a single kill in a match. So a MKB player going to controller after so long of never using one, it shouldnt be that easy no matter what kind of players he was against. I stand by my opinion of aim assist being too strong. And judging by the butthurt toxicity the OP is facing over this opinion says that those controller players agree but dont want it to be brought down because how else could they get kills in a match?
