Just one thing about that live action trailer..?

Okay, so I’m pretty confident to say we’ve all seen the new live action trailers and think they both kicks -Yoink-!
But it really does leave you with some serious questioning.
I have many to ask, but would love it if someone could settle this for me…

In the Master Chief trailer, I strongly believe that he is talking to himself as he walks through the ruins towards the monument of…himself.
He quotes “This. Is this what you wanted? Is this what your looking for? Was everything you compromised, everything you’ve done…worth it?”
He then looks up at his statue, and sounds like he questions himself “Was it?”.

if true, then what did he compromise? With all crazy, galaxy saving antics he’s done, what was it all worth?!

Presumably, if he was indeed talking to himself, it’s probably what he does in Halo 5 or since he went AWOL in Escalation. There’s no reason he would doubt anything he did in the original 4 games, since he was just saving humanity over and over. Even though he lost his friends, they would have died anyway if he hadn’t stopped the Covenant and then the Didact.

It also jives with him thinking and saying these things as he walks through the rubble of that city, the destruction of which Locke attributes to Chief in his version of the trailer.
