How to fix the shrinking zone and spawning fiasco -
When it gets to Showdown, the zone will most likely be at its smallest stage so that’s where the spawning issue happens.
Do this instead:
- Grab the last 2 Spartans and throw them into an Arena
- Force them into Energy Swords and 3x Overshields
- They Joust
- Lives no longer matter, the winner of the Joust wins LSS

I love how wild this is that it might actually work!
Maybe not having 3x Overshields and swords… but something like that would be entertaining!
Overshielded Sword Jousting is pretty fun and has some small room for error, so in the name of fun, the last two Spartans should have an honorable duel. That’s what it should feel like imo, because well, this is Halo and LSS is made for Halo.
If we want actual BR styled game, I’d rather they put that in Tatanka and leave it out of Halo. I’ve noticed over the years Halo became less “fun” and more “serious” of a game. We need that fun back, if we are to build a healthy community.
Infection, Grifball, Forge, Customs, and Fun game modes like Team Fiesta and Shotty Snipers, all these are the backbone of the Halo community - what made the game fun.
So why not start with making LSS fun?

I’m not so much onboard with the arena/jousting aspect. Fun, yeah, but tonally way off kilter for what LSS is going for IMO.
I love the idea that when it gets to “Showdown”, both participants are stripped to their last life. I’ve seen way too many matches where someone’s saved 2-3 lives, at which point, unless the other player has as well, things start to feel pretty pointless (assuming that the skill gap between the players isn’t tremendously lopsided in favor of the one with fewer lives).
I feel like doing that would encourage players to camp less and take more risks for the majority of the match, since they can’t effectively save their lives pool for the last showdown.
