Just One Grenade?

Hey guys,

I have one of my loadouts set to give me pulse grenades (I really only use this for King of the Hill), but every time I spawn with this loadout, it only gives me one grenade. I spawn with 2 grenades when my loadouts have frags or plasmas, so I’m not sure if this is typical or if something is wrong?

Any ideas?

343 thought the pulse grenades were more powerful than frags or stickies, so you only get 1 unless you use the grenadier package in which case you would get 2.

Which is bull. That grenade doesn’t help anything unless you wanna block enemies or they’re in a corner.

Because two pulse grenades would make KOTH unplayable.

Well that’s the logic.

However, i think many players are simply not used to using Pulse Nades. They aren’t meant to out right kill like the other two and i am seeing more players realizing how good they are.

What you do with Pulse Grenades is throw them mid battle into where your opponent will go and most of time, it will drain shields just enough for an easy kill. I’ve done this before and players have killed me this way too. It’s just throwing them correctly (they don’t bounce) and only have one Pulse Nade on spawn means it has a learning curve (which is good for this game).

It’s also good for delaying targets from pushing into choke points with only one way through. It could buy you precious second or two to get away and collect you’re self.

This. I don’t see why they make you have only 1 pulse grenade when its not even as good as the other grenades.

It’s because unlike frags and stickies, pulse grenades have 3 opportunities to maim/kill your enemy:
When it blows up,
When it sustains its explosion,
and it blows up again.

I would much rather give every 2 pulse grenades than frags for koth. Most maps are too small and the hills are tiny. Frags are ridiculous in there. Pulse you can at least get out of. I think they should put grenade count at 1 and give everyone the ability to pick them up off bodies. But that’s just my opinion.

When I first used the pulse grenades I too believed they were useless. They did not bounce, so I couldn’t hurt people around corners. The blast radius is visible so the enemy could avoid it. The grenade does not kill the enemy if they have full shields. Too make it even more useless, you only spawn with one of them. I thought about all of this until I learned how to use them. The more matches I played the more creative I became with them and now when I throw them I get kills even when I had already forgotten them. My advice is to gain more experience with the pulse grenades and in no time you will be making a thread on how OP they are.
