Since the developers of Halo obviously care so deeply about what CoD does, I just wanted to point out something.
In Modern Warfare 2, the traditional 10 prestige, experience based ranking system was heavily exploited. People boosted in head to head and other playlist getting camos, as well as modded 10th prestige lobbies to cheat to the highest level.
So in the next CoD, Modern Warfare 3, the developers did everything they could to stop the cheaters. No more modded lobbies, minmum ways to boost. The developers wanted to maintain the classic ranking system.
Lets take a look at Halo now…
In H2 and H3, people cheated in many ways also. Boosting, deranking, even network manipulations to lag players out of the game. So Bungie decided to follow the same path and fix the problem. Right?
Wrong.
They completely remove the classic 1-50 ranking system.
What? Why? What ever happening to fixing the problem? Is it so hard to stop people from cheating? I personally can think of 100 ways to stop people from cheating while still maintaining the classic 1-50.
Please 343, why do you not just address the real issue?
Yeah, because MW3 is so clear of boosters and hacked lobbies /sarcasm. THat solved nothing and the what 343 is doing is probably the best way to counter it. Also, they’ve already confirmed a skill-based ranking system if you actually pay attention to some videos. No need to worry about the heavily exploitable 1-50 system which is oh so overrated and just focus on this new skill-based ranking system they’ve been talking about.
At this point, rehashing the issue of 1-50 yet AGAIN for the bazillionth time is a complete waste of time. All arguments for and against have been posted in countless threads and not a single person has changed their mind from their original premise.
The game is gold. There is a skill based ranking system that is NOT the Halo 3 1-50. Let’s wait and see what it is before we complain yet again about the ranking system please.
