The premium battle pass should be solely for xp grants, challenge swaps and access to the additional challenge slot.
The standard battle pass should be for everything unlockable from levels 1-100.
There is no reason all of those items should be locked behind a paywall especially when they are armors and customizations that have been around for a long time.
It makes progression without the premium battle pass absolutely pointless.

I wouldn’t have bought it in that case. Bad idea, unfortunately.
Yeah who wants to pay $10 for no actual cosmetics? Nobody? ok.
This doesn’t mean that the free BattlePass shouldn’t offer more, but it should definitely keep a lot of premium stuff in it.

Halo Infinite is free to play for all players who own an Xbox with or without Xbox Live. So 343 has chosen to paywall the usually normal stuff you would have unlocked in previous Halo multiplayers through an overall ranking system like 1-150 or military grades or whatever. This also allows them to throw in the extra cosmetics and/or separate certain armors to keep your set/core not quite finished just yet so they can sell the rest at a later date. The potential for more money is just too seductive, so this new model was chosen in favor of the old way. This is being done so they can separate the Single Player of video games and the Multiplayer, purely to maximize profits. 343/Microsoft isn’t the only ones doing this, this is common place across all markets including the gaming industry.
That being said, the lack of content is still apparent in the Battle Pass, I would have paid more than $10 if there was more variety and choice, coupled with customizations(armors, colors, emblems, stances, weapon skins, etc) but so much of it is locked behind a pay wall… didn’t I already pay the $10 for a supposedly Free to Play game? How much more do I have to pay to only get random cosmetics I did not even ask for like pineapples on my chest? I’m nearly level 38 and I still feel like I don’t have much to work with here. Countless times I see all my fireteam looking identical, when in previous Halo MPs this was not a problem…
And the reason why customization is so important to Halo is because historically throughout the previous games there wasn’t much else the game rewarded players with… so yes… we have no choice but to play with our Spartans like freakin barbie dolls, picking our armors, the stances they take, the nameplates or colors, etc… And that’s exactly how they are selling it to those who purchase cosmetics from the store, “Buy the Oriental Spartan set now!”
I guess I expected too much, I figured they would have at least gave us an equal amount of content from previous games at the beginning instead of dripfeeding the rest of the content later, usually behind an extra pay wall on top of the Battle Pass too.
I have no clue how my dudes be downloading this game without gamepass. It literally funnels me to buy it anytime I try to download it on my xbox.
if this only applies to people who paid $60 for the campaign then sure lol.
