Just my apreciation to 343

Just wanna say I appreciate 343 they listen and are doing everything to make halo 5 better.

In my opinion halo 5 is my favourite halo game, I love the classics but felt like it needed change new factions, vehicles, evil bad aliens, etc Halo 5 is shaping up fans moan n moan but that don’t make me hate the game I enjoy the changes I enjoy the campaign, fighting alongside elites again was great.

New vehicles and variations something I always wanted to see and sanghelios was beautiful the ai count was insane for example evacuation, the multiplayer is amazing aswell I appreciate them listening bringing back infection campaign scoring unsc air vehicles new boss types so much more keep the praising and we may get ai in forge if possible or playable elites even campaign theatre with these features this will be the best halo game to date  343 you have my thanks and I’m always loyal fan I appreciate you’re work and look foward to the future of halo I love the Prometheans and the covie remnants even the new faction the banished thank you.

Halo 5 is an incomplete game. There are many reasons to dislike, even though I am not like the fans who bash the game and I truly enjoy the game. But it still has both major and minor problems. In the end, it’s your preference but factually the game isn’t as good as it’s classics. How?

  • Mediocre story. Whether rewritten or not the game’s story has MANY I mean MANY flaws, and comes to be pretty generic. I recommend watching the Act Man. - Bad characters. Let’s look at some. Lasky. Remember him and his final cutscene with Chief in Halo 4? That made him a great and loveable character in Halo 4. And now he’s… just unnecessary. Or Chief. In the first trilogy he was a silent badass, in Halo 4 he became more dynamic. Now he’s neither. All he did was chase Cortana only to be saved by Locke. The entirety of Blue Team was (insertemojipoop). Osiris were interesting but they were executed in a bland way. - Extremely linear level design. No more open field fights or different paths to approach things. - Microtransactions. Now that may not be exactly very bad but in the end it’s microtransactions. - Severe lack of content. The game was bizarre upon release. Even 7 months later it still doesn’t have as much content as Halo 3-4. I appreciate that they didn’t leave the game to die and 343 has been doing pretty good job with the monthly updates. - Flawed REQ system. - No couch co-op. - Broken Theatre mode.In the end, Halo 5 isn’t a bad game. But it’s very, very disappointing seeing it come out like this. But in my opinion, I blame Microsoft. They’re dictating 343 and they really needed an extra year.

Its actually really nice to see a positive post, and not someone complaining about making halo ‘great again’. I love the multiplayer, I like the Promethean and do not understand the huge amount of hate they get. I really like the level designs and the campaigns play out really well. Does the game have its faults? Obviously, every game made has its faults, even the Bungie Halo games had faults. Its just petty how people see change or they don’t like a minor aspect and suddenly, they attack 343. Great post OP  Good to hear your opinion, its a nice change!

I like how they changed the Knights to make them more of a mini-boss. Kind of like the hunters. They require a different approach to fighting them as opposed to the generic shoot them anywhere and finish them with a melee approach

  1. I will give you that, whoever let Brain Reed do the writing for the game needs to really think about their choice.
  2. Lasky is not unnecessary, he does need to be there, but at the end of the day, he is a background character, and that is what he was. Chief was interesting, not amazing, it was certainly interesting. And Osiris was a great idea, but only half the team was good, the rest were forgettable.
  3. The level design was good, and I have no clue what you mean by this.
  4. Its a business, this is a really petty thing to list as a flaw.
  5. It had an average amount of content at first, and I am glad they have done something like this, because it does add new elements to the game and it gives it some sustainability. And, at the end of the day, it is free. A lot of other publishers and developers would charge for what we have been getting for free.
  6. Not flawed at all, its a system that is used across numerous games. Do I like it? I can live with it. Would I change it? Yes, to a credits system like Reach. But it is not flawed.
  7. Never used this, and don’t know anyone who has ever used this mode. That’s just preference.
  8. It works though?

Halo 5 has got my favorite mulitplayer out of every Halo game so far. It is not a bad game by any means. It is like every other game, it has flaws, but these are minor flaws and they are flaws that can be worked on, and improved on in the future for Halo 6. To say the game is not as good as the classics is just wrong.

  1. He doesn’t mean the art, he means that almost all the levels is basically like a hallway leading to a bunker wave spam.
  2. Average? What FPS games have you been playing? Halo had less arena modes, and no forge at launch which meant no custom games unless you were a competitive player. This does the opposite of sustaining the game, this makes the game boring as there is nothing to do after a few weeks and makes people wanna leave because they are forced into choosing between three different playlists and warzone which makes it so if someone gets tired of them they just go play other games, destroying the population which is Halo 5 in a nutshell. No, other developers would do the same thing as halo 5 because if they charged for playlists that have been in other halo games since launch nobody would buy them and they would ultimately lose business. The “free content” was purely business and nothing else.
  3. It is diffenently flawed as having everything locked behind RNG just to flood the system and force unnecessary grinding.
  4. Just because you didn’t use it doesn’t mean people who play with friends, girlfriends, or wives don’t exist and weren’t apart of the Halo community, its not just a preference.
  5. No, it doesn’t work.

First, multiplayer being good is an opinion. Second, it not being bad at all is an opinion too. You do realize these flaws are in no way minor if the have a large portions of the community who decide to buy the game or even continue playing it based on these so called “minor flaws”. They can be improved for Halo 6 but Halo 6 is NOT Halo 5 so saying they will be improved in a sequel makes zero sense to your “its not a bad game” argument. No, saying the game is not as good as the originals is not wrong, and is pretty true considering how many fails this game has, how many people hate it, the population, and the overall disappointing performance of this game. Though it may be an opinion, it is certainly not wrong.

  1. Had no big impact, unlike Halo 4.
  2. Too linear and repititive.
  3. There needs to be more packs, less randomized etc.
  4. Very little gamemodes, no Forge (understandable), BTB. I’d prefer if it did add NEW elements into the game. But we’re mostly getting what we should have got from launch.
  5. Laggy, bad UI. Just ingeneral flawed. Again, look at Act Man’s video on how to improve it.
  6. This has been one of the biggest features in Halo and one of the reasons why I played Halo. Before, I never bothered much with the campaign solo. I waited to finish it with my best friend, who’se PS owner to play it the entire night to finish the game. Then hop on to play against each other and play online together split screen. My girlfriend is a Halo fan too. It’s annoying that if you actually wanna play with someone else instead of having to play in one couch, Xbox and TV. The other has to have a seperate TV, Xbox, Internet, Membership etc.
  7. Has some of the strangest glitches I’ve ever seen. It once replaced a Hydra with an AR, a Gungoose with a Ghost. And Warzone Theatre doesn’t work. No Campaign Theatre. There’s fast forward but no the other way around.

Halo 5 has good multiplayer, but it’s not being executed poorly. Characters are what drive a story. Halo was known for it’s multilayered and big arena’d design, which seperated it from modern shooters. Content is necessary to keep player base healthy. Honestly 343 have lost many players who they won’t bring back. Couch Coop is very necessary and is major. Theatre mode is the recording source for Halo. It’s also one of the reasons to be seperated from other shooters. In the end I’m not saying Halo 5 is bad. Still much better than many other shooters out there (if not the best) christ look at Black Ops 3.

I took the trouble to bold the things that I think are strictly a matter of opinion. And I’m being generous by bolding the last one - something I could easily argue is just plain wrong.

Just who do you think was gonna foot the bill for that extra year of development? Microsoft gave the team a schedule and a budget. What we got was what fit the time frame and the available funds. If you’re so desperate for a “complete” game then you could have waited until the end of this month to buy. Or you could play a game like Destiny which has a much higher price tag. Does nobody understand how unrealistic it is to expect 2010 content at 2004 prices in 2015? Economics 101, people. Check it out.

The way I see it; it’s an OK game, but a bad Halo game.

I love the game. I just wish the servers weren’t trash. Only thing I’ve complained about since launch

I agree 343 is doing a great job so far in my opinion

Or Chief. In the first trilogy he was a silent badass, in Halo 4 he became more dynamic. Now he’s neither. All he did was chase Cortana only to be saved by Locke. The entirety of Blue Team was (insertemojipoop). Osiris were interesting but they were executed in a bland way.

What can I say it’s interesting to see other people views, I respect them for opening up how they feel haha :ok_hand:

Campaign was bad, worst since Halo 2 (yeah I’m gonna get a lot of hate for that), but realistically the multiplayer is the largest section and that is one of the best of any Halo game, even if it still is missing some things many would like to see.

1 thing that would make the campaign better is scrapping the Covenant, we’ve had 5 numbers games of them, I’m fed up of them, they were supposed to be defeated 2 games ago.

Of course they’ll keep the same species and weapons and such, but there’s no reason for them to be organised the same way or for them to be called the Covenant at this point. That’s part of the reason I’m optimistic about the Halo Wars 2 story, we are still fighting the same species, but it seems they are part of a different organisation.

Here you are, OP, saying thanks to the company that put Halo in its grave. Don’t forget to thank the folks who make gears, battlefield and CoD this fall for the nails in coffin.
