Yeah I didnt feel h4s campaign as much as reach or the other halo titles. H5 has to make a comeback if it wants to come close to previous titles
I am on mission 8, currently it’s better than both 4 and Reach and I loved those games.
reach’s campain wasn’t really impressive IMO so I think halo 5 campain will be better

That’s really good to hear/ read.
Preferred 4 to reach, but sure this new campaign is gonna be awesome! Buzzing for tomorrow night!
So you want the campaign to have lacklustre characters with generic personalities who randomly die off like its Final Destination Halo edition all the while contradicting all previously known lore requiring large (and ludicrous) retcons.
it probably will be, this is the first spartans vs spartans Halo game, so that should definatley make the story better, not to mention the awesome Guardians.

I mean if death wants then he’s gonna get then eventually. Master chief better hold up in his cabin.
Reach’s campaign was disappointing to me. Noble Team didn’t even feel like a team, since there was no single level where the whole squad was together on the ground. If anything Halo 5 is sounding like it’ll be more similar to Halo 2’s format, and I personally thought Halo 2 had the greatest campaign of them all.
Since Halo 5 will have 15 missions that will be around 30 minutes for the casual player on normal I could imagine them putting a lot of secrets and such. For example there is a secret shotgun on the the first and second mission that could prove useful in certain situations. Anyways I think it will be better in lore and replay ability.
I’m trusting 343i with respect to the campaign. Halo 4 was just as emotive as any other Halo has been. Admittedly, the introduction of a character as bland as Jameson Locke has me worried, but I trust that Guardians will still be well written in spite of Locke rather than because of him.
I don’t think there has been a Halo Campaign that hasn’t met my expectations so I’m sure Halo 5 will be no different.
Reach’s was -Yoink-. I’d rather it be like Halo 2 or 3’s.

True, I also expect h5 to resemble h2 due to locke. To me, ce, h2,h3, and reach had great campaigns. And yeah noble team is still a team lol, theyre super soldiers defending a planet. I dont expect much talk between them knowing how circumstances were for them. Bungie is the biological father, never forget !

Lol reach is gold, bungie accomplished a new step from h3 odst to reach in campaign. Bungie is known for giving halo characters bland personalities. Id expect nothing but seriousness knowing a planet is at stake. If u placed yourself in bungies shoes, youd recognize how great of a game Reach is. Its crazy how I can relate to something so fictional as halo lol wow

Bungie is known for giving halo characters bland personalities. Lol, really? I have the opposite feeling while playing prior Halo games. Even the Marines had personality
Chief may be laconic in his speech delivery, but he quickly became my favorite hero. Sometimes, a few words are more powerful than long tirades.
Reach had a great team, never forget George!
Reach was the worst. I still like it but it’s my least favorite Halo Campaign.
What I loved about Reach’s story was it’s tone was just dark and dreary enough without losing the sense of wonder, humor, and heroism Halo had become known for. As for the characters, they’re interesting in a general sense, but they all die before they become relevant to the player.
I REALLY wish they’d developed them better, at the very least least to the level of Jorge. Why is Emile such a reclusive a-hole? How does Kat feel about Six’s replacement? Does Carter question his leadership when his men die one by one?
Lore inconsistencies with a book be -Yoink!-; Reach could have been THE best story had they answered those questions and explored the characters.
From what I’ve seen Halo 5 looks a bit rushed, so we’ll have wait to see if it fares any better.

Nicely put, yeah scrutiny lacked with their personalities, egos, thoughts/ feelings.
@ wicked, bland yes to some extent, marines such as johnson arent the main characters, so it could be a tradeoff.
