Hello. I’m a returning player from the older games, and felt like getting Halo 5 due to it being discounted. It’s been fun so far, but the matchmaking system seems rather unbalanced. For instance, I went 27-9 for my first arena match (you might scoff, but I play ALOT of COD and Titanfall. Competitively at that.) I didn’t play single player, so I was also getting used to the controls. My second match went as well as you’d expect. Didn’t do amazing, but not terrible either, as I went 13-6. But then… then came my third match, and the fourth, and the fifth. Those next three matches, I went 3-16, 2-23, and (insert arbitrary stat here). To be expected, as these players have been playing WAY longer than I have (I haven’t had the game for more than a day) judging by their classic Mjolnir armor. That, or they got REALLY lucky in the requisitions. But in all seriousness, how am I supposed to get better if I can’t survive for more than 7 seconds before I’m facerolled by the Chief himself?
Were you playing Ranked or Social?
What playlist were you playing
There’s so many factors that can change your MM experience but since you’re getting into it this late in the game it won’t be perfect considering the population isn’t as high.
Where are you playing from?
I’m an Aussie gamer and I came back on to play for the first time in months and the game was so laggy for me that I just gave up.
As in, going in for the assassination whilst cloaked, magically the target disappears and then I got beaten from behind. That kind of thing happened a few times and I’ve heard it’s pretty common for other Aussie players now.
Not here to stat-flame you but you haven’t played Halo 5 or any Halo game according to your service record. If you’re using an alternative account, please use your actual account unless that account has been banned.
Yeah, I’ve never used these forums before, so I made this account to post a topic. I used the same email I have for my XB1 though, so I don’t know why it wouldn’t be using my current service record (then again, I’ve changed my account many times over the years. My current email didn’t even exist when I had Reach).

Well you can use your main account to do all your posting here. You know that creating alternative accounts is against forum rules right?
OP seems like you just need practise. Halo is a very different game to CoD, with a much lower TTK. I would suggest playing some octogan or swat. Then advance up to slayer. Then btb, super fiesta to get a grip on all the weapons then warzone etc…

Mate I feel you I’m also from aus and the last few weeks have been getting worse I’m almost done with it and it’s happening frequently in every game
Also if you just started you are in your placement matches which could mean sometimes you go up against people that are a higher rank. Especially if you haven’t played the game before. If you did well in your first couple games then your MMR will go up and you will get matched with more formidable opponents.

you mean higher right?
Feel free to post back using your actual account.
If the GT showing up here is not the same as your GT on the Xbox, that is likely because you are not using the same email address.
