Just got Halo 5 and a Xbox One, any advice for me?

Hello there, I’ve just gotten both Halo 5 and a new console, and I was wondering if the community on here could give me some advice on starting out.

I got into Halo via the lore a friend showed me, and I’ve been a FPS fan with sci-fi shooters like DOOM, (kinda gave that away with my gamertag, eh?) However, I wanted to get into this series because of the different style of gameplay and because how much the books and comics drew me in.

So, any advice for the multiplayer? Ya only get better by learning from those who have been playing longer than you, and I would love to do just that.

(Also, I’m a writer, and was wondering if there was a place on the forum where I could post my Halo-related stories, if possible.)

My advice is to put your controller settings to a low sensitivity to get used to the aim and put your deadzones to 3% for both my settings is 2 vertical and horizontal and 3 percent deadzones and also play campaign or custom games with friends.

Buy REQ packs. Start by buying bronze, then silvers, then golds.

Also, join a Spartan Company. Much more fun playing with a group than solo.

Definitely join a spartan company. A lot of arena and Warzone is dealing with groups of people. When your rolling in groups helps a lot.

If you do join a company make sure your using your mic too. Many people just play the quiet game, and if your dealing with other squads it’s not going to work.

Welcome aboard, friend.

Try the Community Creations (Share your Halo-related creations) and Halo Universe (Discuss the expanding Halo fiction) sections.

Thanks! Was wondering how to setup the aiming, after coming from a mouse and all.

Thanks for the advice, should be a nice little bit of time to spend unlocking them all!

Also, there are so many companies to choose from, any clue on one I could go with?

I only have a kinect at the moment, but my pad is super quiet, so hopefully that’ll do for now.

You can try Wings of Pestilence. We have spots opening up soon. Message me if you’re interested.

Well I would work through the campaign before you go online, get use to and the feel of the mechanics, the weapons etc, play on normal first of all just to get used to it all before going online, it would do new players a world of good and give you some experience before they go online against players with experience,

Personally my favourite game type (along with all my friends) is warzone. but work you way through the reqs when buying, buy 1 gold for the achievement if you want that, but then just work on silvers for a long time (till you basically have all common to rares unlocked) as you are very unlikely to get legendary gear first of all and it is a waste of credits

Learn the maps (same as any game), and follow team mates first of all, see what they do to learn from them.

and well experiment (especially in warzone with reqs), find out what works well in situations and what doesn’t

just a few tips I would say

The sub-forum “Community Creations” (I believe that’s what it’s called - it’s on the main forum page) is where you can share your creative projects.

Here is the Halo Universe side of the forums.

As for multiplayer, I play swat to try and get more accurate. Like most games try to aim for the head.

A fun trick, turn off ‘maintain sprint’ and ‘toggle crouch’ and then start sprinting then slide then hold the crouch button.

Welcome to halo

Hang on, I guess. It’s going to be a bumpy ride.
