Pretty irrelevant story honestly but it was funny.
SO I joined a BTB on meltdown and went 9/2 in 3 minutes while sitting in our base getting camped by two mantises and three ghosts. Some guy kept coming in with his boltshot and I would own him with my storm rifle.
So after the game I get a message that says “Camping scrub”. LOL. If I had left my base for three seconds I would have been ripped apart and that’s what this person says? So anyways I replied saying my camping (even though I was moving throughout the base constantly) was justified by how uneven the game was and he told me I was camping and then invited me to a 1v1. I joined and say the map
“MLG Lockout”. When the game started the only two classes were the MLG setups with dmr/br and a sniper. I selected the BR and walked outside only to hear the familiar sound of a sword being picked up(he knew the map already and rushed the sword). i left instantly and he told me I had rage quitted.
I replied that I wanted to play a default map under default setting and he told me that lockout was a default map in halo 3 or 2 or something. I said I wanted to play a map I knew and he criticized me for not knowing all the MLG stuff(because I have an MLG gamerpic) so I told him truthfully that I pay attention to another game MLG not halo and he called me a cod***.
I really hope this isn’t what it means to be competitive and that all you “competitive” players aren’t like this, the fact that you would beg for a game mode that is literally halo 3 and a map that is also literally halo 3 is just stupid. This is halo 4 and halo reach was halo reach, just because you haven’t figured out how to use the current loadouts competitively doesn’t mean we need an entire playlist to cater to you. You really want halo 3? go play halo 3, i’m sure that there’s enough MLG’s in there for you to play with.
Have you called CNN and tell them your story on haLo 4 1 vs 1 Fight ?
Scintillating tale.
Nobody in their right mind would play a 1v1 with default settings outside of CE.
Don’t rise to a 1v1 callout.
They will obviously take a game where they have the advantage.
For example, I play OddBall a lot, and in slayer games I try and stick with my team and help out.
I consder myself a team player (This IS a team game) and if my shields are down it’s good to see a teammate tag in to clean up the kill.
But most maps are too big for 1v1 so it encourages hoarding power weapons, rushing and camping.
most of the time in a 1v1 they will stick to strategic spots where they have the advantage until you “find” them, they don’t actively pursue you.

You sound dumb, sorry. MLG’s? You can’t be an MLG… it stands for Major League Gaming and in competitive halo 2 and 3 they set the foundation for particular game types and weapon sets. It’s not a person or something you can be. Lockout is a Halo 2 map and its somewhat embarrassing that you don’t know that or simply couldn’t google it to find out before making a whole thread about it. This particular kid was a tool, I’ll grant you that but you sound like a fool coming here and saying this. I knew this was going to be silly when you bragged how you “owned him with your storm rifle.” Enjoy lame -Yoink!- halo 4. I’d go enjoy halo 2 except that I can’t since its been removed from XBL.
Mlg Pros will use the sword any chance they get when money is on the line. When ever I woudl 1v1 in 2 or 3 I would not use shotty or sword unless the other guy started using them first.
Ya know you should be glad he used Lockout. That map is better for 1v1 than any map in Halo 4.
And yes us competitve types will be getting our own playlist which you would probably not last two seconds in.

ROFL you dont know what lockout is??? hahahaha
Dude didnt you know that the actions of one person instantly means everyone in the MLG community is like that.
geez common sense…
/sarcasm
never do 1v1’s with randoms.
Usually it’s morons who have something to prove because they failed miserably in the real world situation (aka in matchmaking) so they are trying to somehow justify their failure.
I’ve been sent many 1v1’s in my day and have never accepted a single one. I don’t do 1v1’s, they are pointless unless you are with a friend actually practicing something like strafe moves or w/e.
Don’t know lockout/even Blackout?
Not a true Halo fan. 'nuff said.
Also “DMR/Sniper” and “BR/Sniper” aren’t MLG loadouts. Nor will they ever be.
One other point: THERE IS NO PLAYING HALO 4’S DEFAULT SETTING COMPETITIVELY.
Period, and Exclamation Mark. Calling Infinity Slayer competitive is like saying Pinata is a competitive sport. Because when you play it, you might as well be blindfolded and spun around until you’re dizzy.
1v1 is like the ultimate way of saying you have no rebuttal and can’t hold yourself up in a debate/argument.
Also, I always have this sneaky suspicion that they quietly go into the settings and turn on something like, “Leader damage resistance 200%” or something like, make sure they get the first kill, then stay in the lead for the whole game.

^^^ You sir, are an idiot.
I never got to play Halo 2 MM.I started with Halo 3 about half of 2009 or later. And every game after it.I hear people say it was awesome and all.I’m still wondering though, could you still do the awesome costum games like in Halo 3?
I was challenged to, and won, many 1v1’s in Halo 2. They always made me laugh. And to answer your question, yes. That behavior is the behavior many competitives display.
I think you need to look up the definition of competitive…
Yes, you bested him every time he ran into an area you were holding, he wanted equal ground where the only options of entry were not limited. He called you out, you accepted. Doesn’t that make you competitive?
Anyway, anytime I had a -Yoink- talker in Halo 2, where I could actually hear the other team when close enough, I challenged him to a 1v1. Upon him accepting my invitation, I handed over party leader and gave him his choice. Some people respect what it means to challenge, some people don’t. Whatever the situation, had you believed you were better, then you would of sought out means to detach him from the sword. Isn’t that what most people rage about when us “competitive types” say we want static spawns? Adapting and overcoming?
Anyway, you ran when he had the advantage, he won.
If he had the sword, you get the shotgun, simple. If he has both, then he’s a nib and all you need to do is reach a high vantage point, such as the roof of the biggest base and shoot him down when he approaches. Since you had sniper starts, this should have been even easier.
I would take the sniper over the sword any day… the fact he rushed sword instead of doing something with the sniper, like watching the pathway on the bottom level that lets you see from one side of the base to the other, shows that he’s just a noob.
i got called out to a 2v2 when i joined a dominion game late and went 2-0 with 45 seconds left in the game. oddly enough it was my own teammate and his guest that went 9-16 and 7-18. since i was playing solo and had no one on i didnt really want to. i did think for a second that i could beat them 1v2, but then i remember this is the most noob friendly halo game to date. and really it would of been a waste of time
my random but true story lol
Did you get on his level, “broseph”?
Did you get a 360 noscope xX420_MONEYSHOT_420Xx swagkill?
If not, you might be a TOTAL SCRUB YO!
