idk but I got a 10 min ban and i didnt quit so im not sure how this system works anymore 
. and yeah it did take longer to write than the ban but not like it mattered since I deleted it

It shouldn’t have banned you for one game. Halo Data Hive confirms that this was a one off episode (you only have 3x DNF total).

haha I wouldnt be to surprised if there were still some wonky bugs or maybe some weird rules that shouldnt be considered when an imbalanced team is detected but wasn`t implemented properly
I was in a match earlier, 3v4 oddball so GA to just end it fast. Was just doing jumps with the other team. My buddy & I forgot to land a few shots on the other team, so we got a timeout. Was like 5 or so mins, didn’t pay much attention to it since I was on an alt & was the last game of the night. Basically in circumstances like that, you have to shoot a bit at the other team or else it’ll give you a little timeout after the match.
OR… totally crazy idea, I know… bringing such big flaws to 343’ attention and doing the job of their non existing QA could make the game better. On the other side… they won’t fix it anyway. Either because they don’t know how (desync) or simple don’t care (player collision).
Perhaps they put in an Anti-Griefing Ban?
You know, to punish players that just join matches and don’t do anything to contribute?
You said yourself that you were just goofing off and not playing the objective.
Having encountered that years back in games like 3 and Reach where you have a full stack, but Teammate No.4 is just doofing off and even hindering team progress by doing things like take vehicles just to drive laps and avoid players; perhaps this is an anti-griefer ban that punishes players who clearly aren’t shooting the enemy or playing the gamemode and are instead causing frustration for teammates?
Yeah it sucks that it became a 4v2.
But hey, I had that happen when I was playing with a co-worker a month ago and ended up nearly carrying our team to victory with a match of 50 to 36 or 37.
The two of us dominated the enemy team and it boggled our minds the fact that Bots weren’t spawning in or that even though both teams lost two players immediately, only the enemy team was filled up.
But hey, we fought hard and didn’t give in.
Perhaps had we just given in and didn’t do anything to actually play the objective or put some aggro on the enemy players, we probably would’ve been banned.
Anyone want to put this to the test?
See if just goofing off and avoiding conflict gets you banned in matches?
If it is not the case, then perhaps OP encountered a weird bug in the banning system?

And thats a major flaw. In a 4:2 objective, there has to be a meachnism to disable AFK punishment. If there is no forfeit option, you can’t punish players for not playing the way 343 wants.
In higher ranks, it’s a pretty common behavior not kill players when 2 or more players quit. So you are just running around the map…
This issue just perfectly shows AGAIN, that 343 rushed the MP without any serious testing, QA and polishing.
Yup, thas 343 tactics. Implement something, ignore the backlash they get for it and sit out until noone cares anymore. 90% of the people here see it differently, but hey… why should anybody care about these number. 343 knows how to make games… they’ve proven it so many times

Probably a minor flaw. It’s the first time I’ve heard of anyone getting banned for not firing shots in a game.
I’m pretty sure I’ve spent ages running around, practicing jumps, and ignoring the enemy in similar situations (beating up 1 or 2 players is pointless). Haven’t experienced being banned myself.
But as for starting a game with reduced players. Yep. That’s a major flaw.
99.9% of statistics on this forum are just pulled out of someone’s -yoink-.

I have 61 DNF’s according to HaloTracker and I haven’t been banned, or if I have I’ve forgotten about it lol. To be fair I’d say roughly half are crashes, but still

Kotaro, my alt really isn’t like a smurf. My main I’m onyx in both playlists and 100 on the battle pass so I don’t get much enjoyment playing on it since there’s no progression. My way of staying entertained is having a secondary account and playing on it like it’s a main. It’s onyx as well, but not 100 on the BP so I play on that for the sense of progression. Hopefully that makes somewhat of sense lol. None of my alts are like the low level that play with onyx friends. All of mine are in onyx & I’ll play with my onyx friends, the matches are usually always onyx vs onyx with a few diamonds every now and then if the other team has a 2k+ onyx & plat partied up.

huh I thought this thread would have been buried but my guess is since I finished the game with 0 points it counted as something negative like others have said and the game doesnt have any alternative rules or w/e within the code to help minimize useless and unfair bans.

My Smurf gets matched with high diamond low onyx and it’s still in the gold realm. The entire reason we make smurfs is because it gets exhausting carrying game after game… sometimes I want to be carried so I can goof off, even then my goofing off apparently is still too good. Obviously I’m joking but only kinda
