JUST GOT "BANHAMMERED" FOR FINISHING A MATCH

Seriously.

After the game ended, it went to the postgame carnage report, and after about a minute of looking through that it said “connection lost”. Then it immediately went to a Banhammer screen.

Which by itself is strange, since I had finished the last nine out of 10 matches. WTF?

Anyway, here’s the game. I wasn’t aware I could get banned for playing badly.

banhammers can be delayed a game for it to register

This is my favorite Halo Waypoint tradition.

It seems the only people to complain about the banhammer are the people who have a lot of DNFs in their history. Can’t imagine why they get banned…

well same thing happened to me i quit a match 3 games ago and it took forever after winning tons of matches afterwards to get banned after a match. luckily its only a 5 min. but what makes me laugh is that people in here, and in other posts, making fun of people that get banned leaving a really bad game with terrible teammates, is they have just as many DNFs. hell most mine werent even for quitting, they were for connection issues. some on 343i’s fault because the server crashed. but im the bad guy because that happened to me. thats like getting robbed and saying “well thats your fault for working at a bank” oh next time ill work at flipping burgers because its so inconvenient for the police to catch robbers. it would just be easier if we didnt strive harder. but anyways it sucked but likely its 5 min. Halo reach was worse, 1st ban was a week.

It’s quiet funny really. when you get higher up like me in the 80s almost, you are going to have some DNFs, its gonna happen so punishing people for something natural to happen is kind of dumb lol.

That’s out of almost 150 games played, so a completion rate of around 90%. Not great, but not bannable, either, duhr.

Avaplaya’s second favorite tradition: not looking at the numbers herself. LOL!

Himself* and you’re right, we were wrong. The season started on the first so that’s 21 DNFs this season. Sorry!

And you’ve DNF’d 21/122 arena matches this season, which is a 16% rate. Don’t try to act all high and mighty with the math of your quits. That’s a pretty sizable amount.

We can see everything. We know everything about you, Ender.

That said, bans reset themselves every month right?

But I do find it odd that he actually played two playlists before being banned. Why does the system do this? Shouldn’t it ban him right after his last DNF? People are going to believe they are getting unfairly shafted if they don’t fix this.

And just in case you want to try and call me out, I’ll go ahead and admit that I’ve been a bad boy too. I’ve DNF’d 3 out of my last 200. And it happens so little that I remember them.
The most recent, 44 games ago (in January), was a Regret slayer where a party of 2 quit my team, and then, after 1 minute, the final teammate bailed on me too. So yeah, I quit after getting one more kill and dying once more.
The next was a disconnect from a CTF on Coliseum at the very beginning of the match. I was mad. I had liked the guys in the lobby.
And the final (here’s where I was actually bad) was a BTB CTF on Basin, where I left to play with my friends for company Halo Night. It was an impromptu one called on a Monday because half of the leaders were busy on Friday that week.
