This is completely absurd. Seeing less rage hackers and more just wallers in Open. Just give us a Valorant tier kernel level anticheat. I don’t care as long as I can play the game and actually feel I’m getting outplayed instead of cheated on.

This is new waters for 343, these guys can hardly put together their own story, so they are really going to have a rough time with trying to get an appropriate anti-cheat ready.

I agree, and that concerns me. With all their vidocs of them toting their PC optimization and how they are ready for f2p cheaters with an anticheat, it was just horse crap sadly. I know it’s a ton of work and they are the developers, I know it’s not easy, but if they needed more time… whatever at this point. What’s another 6 months right? I would have waited either way.

With Halo Infinite being Free 2 Play, banning IPs is only a partial temporary fix because the cheater can make a new account and hop right back on or outright spoof a new IP.

Yeah I just played a game last night with a guy who was using such an obvious aimbot it was ridiculous. He literally sniped me while I was standing behind him, then 360 spun around and sniped a guy out of a warthog turret on the other side of the map, all in like a quarter-second. I don’t think the game even allows you to turn that fast at max acceleration lol
That should be how they ban period. IP and I’d even say hardware ban. The anticheat is the first line of defense and if it isn’t robust, no way manual review Matthew will be able to keep up, especially if they’re only account banning. Or in the case of the cheaters I’ve gotten banned so far with support tickets, 2 week temporary bans.

Umm. A lot of people in the gaming community have voiced their outright contempt for kernel level anti-cheat.
Valorant tried it and everyone got pissed. Plus, a.few cheaters were able to bypass it with relative ease. I just don’t feel the privacy and security risks are worth it.
