Just curious...

Halo 5 multiplayer is supposed to be server-based. And I’ve got FiOS with 58 Mbps down, 60 Mbps up, 79ms latency. So, why am I the slowest player in the game? I hit one guy with a full magazine of needles and half a magazine of AR rounds and he still manages to not die, turn around and kill me with one melee hit. AND I HAD FULL SHIELDS!!!

This is probably why I qualified in Slayer starting at Silver 1, because there is something going on with the servers and the connection speeds. If all the connections were equal, there would be no way I couldn’t make a kill with the Needler or my AR.

Where are you located and what times are you playing at? They effect what servers you get connected too.

I live on Long Island, NY and played at 3:00 PM to 3:15 PM, again at 5:30 PM to 5:45 PM, and lastly at 11:00 PM to 3:00 AM. The afternoon times is when I have the most trouble with the game. Late at night, we win most games, but the afternoon games just makes me pull my hair out and scream at the t.v. I’ve also played occasionally around 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM with good game speeds. Everything just seems so sluggish during the afternoon hours.

I also notice games speeds vary, too. Game speeds at 3:00 PM are slower than at 11:00 PM, and usually fastest at 7:00 PM.

It doesnt necessarily have to do with your connection, but the other players connection. If they are on a poor connection, it can sometimes have the same effect as lag switching, making it difficult to kill them and showing them as teleporting across the screen.
