Just Confirm/Deny This One Thing...

All they really need to do to stop this craziness on the boards is to simply confirm whether or not there will be a playlist or group of playlists that will feature a classic Halo experience (same loadouts, no AA’s, etc.). If they confirmed or denied that, I think it would solve a lot of problems.

If they confirm it, I think pretty much everyone will be satisfied (right?).
If they deny it, however, at least we know the direction they’re going with the series.

I think ranked/social playlist confirmation is the real issue here.

I can’t remember were I read it, but they have confirmed a while back that there will ALWAYS be a classic experience in Halo 4.

Hmph, there’s also a ‘classic’ experience in Reach. Two team-based playlists without sprint or armor abilities on spawn: MLG and anniversary.

MLG is nice if you don’t mind losing and getting stomped. Because you will. I would say a lack of a ranking system is to blame, but the fact that almost everyone in that playlist is semi pro probably has more to do with it in this case.

And anniversary is nice if you don’t mind not being able to jump on top of a rock easily and don’t mind using just the pistol all the time.

So the only way Reach can truly be fun and exciting for me is MLG, when I’m not getting my -Yoink- handed to me. I absolutely do not want the same to happen for Halo 4.

And still: because of bloom, it is impossible to make a perfect classic gametype in Reach, with a balanced sandbox. Headshot weapons dominate zero bloom gametypes, so the only way of getting a classic gametype is making it a one-gun game (see the two playlists above).

I read that too. I really hope it means what it seems it means, but it’s hard to tell sometimes. Especially given the way Bungie/343 was/is with their information.

There was never a truly dedicated classic experience for Reach that was planned at launch, 343i has different plans for Halo 4, considering it was impossible to have a Battle Rifle in Reach and the DMR with bloom was nothing like it, Halo 4 will have a Battle Rifle, which will allow for Halo 2 & 3 gameplay, as for the pistol for Halo CE, we will see in time.

The DMR is in from Reach, however that is going to behave as some sort of bloom system or what, we will see.

The thing I don’t understand is why can’t they confirm/deny this? How do they choose what info they’re going to talk about in the first place?

yeah I was just editing my post, adding something similar to your point :stuck_out_tongue:

Your post makes me a bit less of a pessimist

If they confirm it a lot of people will be happy.

If they confirm classic playlists and the return of the Elites to multiplayer, even more people will be happy.

But unfortunantly, 343i had to remove elites due to some story in multiplayer no one ever wanted.

Where’s the fun if 343i spoils us? I say keep confirming piece by piece until the game is released. Confirming everything will eventually make people uninterested before the game comes out.

I’d rather have people want the game when it comes out than have people not know what they’re getting and not want to buy it because they think it’s CoD.

I vote we just trust them. They’ll release more and more information the closer and closer we get to release. Considering there are Several months before release, they’ve got Plenty of time to tell us stuff. =)
I’m just going to trust 343 with this thing. Like The Little Moa said, they’ve said they’ll Always have a Classic Halo thingy. I remember reading that or hearing it in an interview or something too. So that’s pretty much guaranteed.
I’m excited. =)
