Often it’s just confusing when you see a spartan and you do not know if it is a mate or an enemy because the colour of their armour is disturbing to identify the team colour.
Yes i know you want individuliuation but red vs blue is just clearer and does not get me in situations like that.

i mean, the game striaght highlight them. If you cant tell, id would suggest using a different outline color to make it more apparent for you. At the end of the day, red v blue is not coming back. It goes against their monetization plans and their accessability goals (since not everyone can see certain colors). Red V Blue would only come back if neither of those are impacted
Wasn’t an issue for me and anyone I played with, plus seeing people’s custom armor is a benefit. Instead of looking for a gamertag, you can get used to a person’s playstyle and recognize their customization.
like "that dude in purple/red with the visor always does X"
What if every armor coating had a warm (enemy) and cool (ally) variant? That way you could choose to disable outlines and still have a hard representation of team.
A toggle would make sense. Sometimes I would get them mixed up too since it feels unnatural for a Halo game.
No thank you. Outlines look and feel better than Red/Blue ever did. Customization and monitization not withstanding.
I don’t care if they should implement a toggle for those who want it, but the current system should remain as it is because it is nearly perfect. (The only change I’d suggest is to let 'none’ be a color option.)
I personally really like the current system. I’d rather I can just turn it off for teammates to clear up the screen, but for enemies it works really well I think.

You can’t see the armor permutations more with outlines. In fact, it even overpowers the colors the player is using. So, to be honest, I don’t think that helps with their “plans”. If anything, the intro that shows the players’ armor does that, which can be done still with Red/Blue - just have the colors transition to team colors during the intro, as a cool effect.
I think the bigger reason for the outlines is because with so many visual details going on with maps in the game, the normal person can no longer make out the spartan image on their screen. It’s like everyone wearing camouflage these days. I remember how shade in maps on older Halos would camouflage one team, and it was usually the punchline to a joke lol.

whether the implementation dampens one of the goals for the company is irrelevant as the gear and coating is still visible. Thats all that matters to them.
ah yes, shaders. I remember blue team being basically hidden in prior games. 5 had it so bad they had to adjust the colors which just made spartans look terrible
Agreed. It’s not as bad as Battlefield 2042s but Red vs Blue fits the multiplayer component way better than outlines to justify a horrible monetization scheme.

nah i think it good as it is
Sadly, the outline system is… likely here to stay.
BUT, if you make them yellow, well shoot, it’s on you if you can’t IFF them!
I like it. Ask for options, not to change the game when it comes to visuals.
Some games, especially Arena type shooters, I just want high visibility.
It took me a few matches to get used to it. Don’t have a problem & outlines does work.
As much as I like red vs blue, it defeats the object of customization, with it being free to play, the outlines aren’t going away. They might be changed a bit etc in time.
And never see the sweet skins? No thanks.
That would cut into their MTX profits so they cant sorry

I’d like the RvB system back too but I also really love that I can show my armor and colors. As I mentioned in a different topic, 343 can either scrap the outline system and bring back the RvB system or if they don’t want to bring back RvB they should scrap the outline system. Enemies can be determined by their lack of service tags and a red reticle, therefore outlines are not needed at all.
I agree with you as well as so many others that the outline system is horrible, in my opinion it just takes away from an immersive experience, if you watch the Multiplayer Reveal Trailer there was no outline system shown and it looked absolutely amazing without the outlines…
I talked about the outline system in detail in my feedback post, if you want to read it you can find it here, https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/29568daf8cd14083bd1b70a810bf3581/topics/i-m-an-original-halo-player-here-s-my-feedback/0aca4ee7-da4a-4c06-93f5-03a30f48f6b9/posts
Although we all may be used to the RvB color scheme of team slayer, we must realize that the formula will one day change, and that day has come. I personally hated the ugly red and blue colors to begin with, so this was a most welcomed departure from the norm as far as I am concerned.

Red vs Blue was allowed to ruin customization for way too long. Finally the spartan I make in the menu will be the spartan I see in the game.
