Yes, yes, yes…All game developers want to see numbers like COD. I get it…No matter how much anyone or any group says COD games are trash the numbers and the money brought in TRUMPS everything.
COD is and has changed FPS games. It’s terrible to see great games, like Halo, adapting to COD format. HALO 4 is more like a COD game than any previous HALO game. At one time HALO was the game which changed FPS games, but times have changed and I guess FPS games are supposed to be REAL. “I need to feel like I’m really in combat!!! Yeah!!! Even though every branch of the military has rejected me.”. I guess FPS games aren’t supposed to take any real skill to be a good player anymore. “What’s a 4-shot? What’s a strafe? A no-scope…What is that? I have this jet pack, or sprint which lets me get away from your shots because I don’t know what a strafe is. I have this sweet ‘thing’ which let’s me see through walls because I generally suck at competitive games and need more help.” Please, don’t make me go on. Microsoft, please, just sell all of the HALO rights to the makers of COD or partner up with them.
Just call it “COD: Halo” already.

Play SWAT, can’t use special abilities and you are limited to 2 pre-set loadouts, plus it takes some skill. I see no similarities between the 2. COD is COD and Halo is Halo, If I wanted to play COD I would have bought it. I don’t understand how you think that just because COD has certain features in it that it’s not ok for another game to adopt and modify some of those features. If you’re pissed over sprint and strafe and things like that, you may need to seek help immediately, god forbid another game has sprint…
You are complaining about people being able to “dodge” or “get away from your shots”? Grow up man, I don’t know one person that wouldn’t try to avoid being shot.
You have access to all the abilities just like everyone else, use them to your advantage, and if you still suck than you should move on. Quit comparing this game to COD, when in fact it is completely different.
If anyone ever manages to make a constructive thread comparing Halo to CoD, it won’t get locked immediately, and the creator gets my compliments. Until then, expect these kinds of threads to be locked quickly, they aren’t constructive.
No wonder this country is “dumbing down”. It’s not difficult to catch what I was trying to say. I wasn’t complaining about other gamers getting away from me. I was complaining about Armor Abilities in general. Halo never needed such additions. Please, improve on those reading comprehension skills.

-Specilisations that act as a “prestige” type system

-Weapon skins
-Ability to sprint regardless of setup
-Cannot get knocked out of scope when shot
-Grenade indicators
-Hit markers
-Friendly fire turned off
-Instant respawn
-No ammo on map
These are all changes from the original trilogy. As you can see they are very different from CoD and other modern FPS games. Halo has stayed very true to its roots.
These threads are so old. Here’s what I hear…cry, cry, cry, I suck at halo now cuz things aren’t the same and I’m not intelligent enough to adapt to new situations and tactics.
Does cod have regenerating shields…no
Does Cod have a genetic super soldier who can jump 8 feet vertically…no
Does cod have weapons that vary so much they look feel and play different…no
Does cod play out on strange alien atmospheres…no
Does cod have armor variances…no
Does cod have bubble shields, regents, pv, jet packs, etc…no
343 has taken just a couple very minor elements from another game that is the most widely recognized franchise ever besides halo, stupid? No. Not at all. Obviously cod has done some things well enuf to get that success. Halo pulled a couple things from that to enhance their completely different game. Learn to adapt to the new halo game or don’t play it. I beg of 343 to not make bungies mistakes and change the game. Spent months learning to adapt to reach changes only to have them change the way everything played months after release to cater to noobs.
343 halo 4 is amazing and I commend the work you have done. The game is brilliant and does not need changed at all. Fix your bugs and glitches, ban the cheaters, but leave the weapons perks spawns ordinance kill cams and everything else people cry about alone. Well done to you 343, and thanks.
