Just bought the game but cant play

So i just bought/preordered the game on my xbox store but it wont let me play the definitive edition, anyone know why?

Codes are messaged out over XBL 7-10 days after purchase of digital download. Might be faster now that Christmas is over, but don’t expect it for a week.

(And don’t use the automatic redemption feature, copy and paste into the store’s ‘redeem code’.)

still, it’s such a drag having to wait a week or more after purchase
