i was fearing the title update was going to fix the DMR. i was extremely sad. But someone from 343 posted on someones thread confirming it is absolutely not going to be changed. Thank God. Why can’t people understand it doesn’t need to be changed? Deal with it people, its here to stay

But no the DMR needs rebalancing its clearly the best rifle by far. The Boltshot was the bigger issue to me though.
I like the DMR AS IS as well. So we must be among the less than .001% club according to one receint thread.

The 7000 kills are mostly from Spartan Ops. I still am not close to Mastering the DMR. I am actually nearing Assault Rifle Master.
I was truly sad to hear that the DMR was not going to get nerfed, very sad indeed.
Well there is still the possibility of it happening after this partial TU, or at least i hope so hehe.
Though you may not see it, the DMR is wildly unbalanced just so you know, and yes it has been proven… countless times.

I really find this argument about the weapon being OP just because it is the most used ToD of most players to be quite ridiculous.
So you are telling me that in:
H3 and H2 the BR was OP too? because If I remember correctly it was the weapon EVERYONE used, in some maps it was a pickup weapon (like now H4 with Team Throwdown) and some times you had BR starts.
So using that same logic BR was OP and had to be nerfed so other weapons could compete with it back then, yet never got nerfed.

So I don’t know why people are now getting upset about this, I never saw so much hatred for a weapon before.

What I just highlighted in bold is why Halo is failing and population is down. Halo 4 is the most unbalanced Halo in the series. You cant act like everything is ok and just “deal with it”.

Try using a different weapon like the Carbine or Light Rifle for a little bit and you’ll see the difference. I like using the Carbine, but I’m certainly at a disadvantage against DMR users. And don’t just say “Well just use the DMR”.
The DMR is not my favorite weapon in matchmaking people. I need like 400-500 kills for master and 200-250 kills for my assault Rifle master. I only use it alot when I play spartan ops.

I don’t really care for the light rifle and carbine. I really really love the Battle Rifle because of the classic Halo 3 feel. Those two rifles are deadly when wielded in the right hands. Just cause you don’t know how to use a rifle doesn’t mean they suck. I got so effin bored with the DMR at launch that I just can’t stand starting with the weapon. I prefer the BR.

did it have crazy bullet magnetism? nope

I understand what you are trying to say. I just don’t care about its features. DMR users haven’t bothered me. Like I said I been a Halo online player since Halo 2 and Halo 4 has me addicted. I play for fun. I don’t care about any rankings or what not. But I do agree rankings might bring back the population to its glory.

So it seems you didn’t play those games then.
Halo CE pistol had a rather long range, way more range than a handgun should have and had the fastest kill time.
BR could cross map easily on H3 so please don’t say it couldn’t plus it also had hit scan, I did many cross mapping head shots with the BR on Sand trap and Sandbox its not even funny.
So I don’t see the problem, no, If anything I would blame map design for having such large lines of sight allowing for this to happen.

Maybe you should re-check your stats… I know what mine is.

The problem here is that people seem to think all of the weapons need to be judged as an “all around” weapon, as opposed to the niches they fill.
DMR and Lighrifle - long range.
BR and Carbine - mid range.
AR, storm rifle, and suppressor - close range.
Some are flexible, some are not. Instead of focusing on what is the best overall, people should focus on what works best in certain situations.

of course he can, and so can I. we obviously share different opinions, i think the DMR is fine the way it is, and you don’t. i think Halo 4 is pretty balanced, and you don’t. it’s all a matter of opinion, and until you can get someone like Steven Hawking to prove your point, it’s gonna stay that way
Enjoy your overpowered, game breaking, skill-less weapon. I won’t be.
