Just Because it's JIP, Doesn't Mean Leaving's OK.

The most recent match I played was Covenant Slayer. Someone left before the match even began, so it was 3 against 4 until someone joined. Then another teammate left. Then another joined. Then another left. Then another joined. Then another left, and we didn’t get anybody else, and then another teammate left, so it was 2 against 4 for the rest of the match. 5 people left our team in total, and we lost by almost 20 points to the other team which camped us to death.

Why do people think it’s ok to constantly leave matches like that? Do they just think to themselves “It’z soshul so sumwun will just fill in 4 me!1!1!” and go off to join another match?

There needs to be a more severe penalty for leavers in general. Suspending their XP and RP gain until they play a certain number of matches until completion would be an interesting way to go about it.

There’s your reason.

Odds are it was server issues if there was that much disconnecting in one game and losing by 20 isn’t terrible.

i wouldn’t worry tho as the ban system will handle it (unfortunate for those with server disconnects though).

I could see server issues being the reason why the first person “left” before the match, but I highly doubt that it was server issues that caused four more people to leave. That, and to be frank, it’s been a very, very long time since I’ve seen a point difference in a Halo 5 Slayer match that was that big. Most of the matches I’ve played, social or ranked, usually end with a difference of about 5-10 points.

It sucks when ppl leave cause then your screen freezes (or it’s probably just my internet)

I’ve been in plenty of games where it absolutely was the server dropping multiple players. I’ve gone back into theater and watched players, not AFK, but sprinting across the map or actively engaging an enemy suddenly drop dead. In one game where we were all randoms, not in a party or fire team, the server dropped one player on our team and a minute later dropped two of us simultaneously so the last guy had to try to finish on his own. In another game the server dropped our whole team simultaneously, again randoms, and the match ended. I know people quit for the reasons listed above and others, and it happens way too much, but 343 and MS are more than happy to sit back and let us get salty at each other for quitting in the many instances where the blame lies directly with them and their servers.
