I love halo, always have. I love the gameplay this title has to offer dispite the lack of map and gamemode variety. 343 have already placed their bet that people would buy into the storefront and pass system, and I’m sure my input is just a tiny nothing in the amount of profit they feel like they could make, but I’d personally be willing to spend money on infinite if they’d be willing to bring back classic’ish color customization and allow for cross core customization. I understand that 343 have already sold bundles and sold the seasonal passes in the current model, but if they’d be willing to change it, I’d be much more willing to spend money on the game, and I’m sure plenty more feel the same. I want to see halo get better and succeed, but if you’re making regressions in customization for the sake of more profit, it just makes me want to not spend any money at all. Many of us know they’ve made sacrafices to emblem, color, and cross core customization just so they could take more money from loyal fans. It feels like they’re treating us like whales rather than fans. I’d rather support developers who care about their fanbase than give it to those who charge 20 dollars for a single color preset. Stop screwing the halo franchise, please.
And just for reference, if they wanted they could make the battle pass exactly like how the reach store used to function. Make credits through gameplay and then spend those credits in the store. The season passes could just be buying access to be able to purchase those seasonal armor pieces in the credit store, but no, they decided to implement a linear unlock system where you had to unlock everything to get to the good stuff while also paywalling emblems, colors, and locked specfic pieces to cores. These are regressions they’ve made because they feel like they could make more money off of your nostalgia for halo Reach with their garbage reach themed pass. The traditional f2p battle pass system and storefront is an unwelcome change in my opinion and this is my pleed they revert it back to something better.
