While I am mostly posting this for -Yoink- and giggles a thought came to me today. What if we are wrong about the e3 trailer. What if that isn’t the MC what if it is another S-II.
I know we all believe it to be the MC because of the AI data chip in his hands. But Cortanas was destroyed so where would he get a new one from.
There are a few S-II that we all hoped survived that are alone such as Jorge and James but they never received the Mk. 6 armor. nor did any members of Red team.
So what if that isn’t John who could it be. we know Joseph is alive and well though we have never seen him. Given that it is a possibility, although a small one, who do you think it could be?
It has never been proven that they died, we all knew Jun was dead and he randomly popped back into the series. While I do believe that it is John what if its not, that’s the question being asked. What if we are all once again wrong? The question was used to make us think and question what we suspect
No one ever said Jun was dead. He escorted Halsey and Halsey survived so it wasn’t unreasonable to think he did too.
Jorge most definitely died when the slipspace bomb went off. And James was last seen flying off into space during the fall of Reach during a time the UNSC was in no position to mount a rescue operation and almost certainly died of asphyxiation when his suit ran out of air.
Jorge is most certainly dead. James is like 99% certainly dead.

After John escaped the ship (rescuing Staff Sergeant Johnson, Private First Class Jenkins, and Privates Bisenti and O’Brien and the critically wounded Linda), completing his mission, he returned to the UNSC Pillar of Autumn. There, he asked Lieutenant Hall to scan for James. Unfortunately, she couldn’t find him, and they had to leave the Spartan out in space, where he would either be overrun by <mark>Covenant troops that were in zero-gravity, or he would die from exposure,</mark> something no one, not even a Spartan, could fight, no matter how determined. John felt a pang of regret for his friend and comrade, but was unable to help him. And as with all of the SPARTAN’s he was listed as MIA, though one of few to truly be so. Yea, James could’ve been possibly taken prisoner or killed because their would be no other way he could’ve survived.
Not only did an unstable slipspace drive, which was called a bomb for a reason, detonate mere feet away from him, but he was also helmetless. That is a lot of radiation pouring into him.
Plus there’s the fact that the slipspace event was completely random and probably unstable itself. If he didn’t die from the detonation, he would from the damaged Corvette getting bulldozed by flaming Supercarrier debris, or smashing into some planet or sun because of the random vector.
Jun, escorted Halsey to CASTLE. In a book, Halsey states that she stayed behind to secure data, everyone else evacuated. Jun would be with those that evacuated.
I think every one is missing the point of my post. The point was to question what we think we know. I was using possible examples, most likely wrong yes but examples still the same. What if that isn’t MC who could it be?

It’s John. There’s zero possibility of it being anyone else.
No one has mentioned noble 6… At the end of halo reach his helmet is left but where is the rest of his armour? Unless he was dragged away by the covenant then he could have hijacked a ship and survived.

Nope he died and even if he faked it to escape the elites then he was glassed, besides what would the covenant gain from him. The shot doesnt show the rest of the armour because it was at a different place to his helmet and the reason it doesnt show it is because its nit needed since you generally use the helmet to signify noble 6. Besides why would he be wearing John’s custom Mk VI armour?

MC has a custom version of it so only he would get it, they could of gotten the armour to be updated ehen he returned to earth so that many got it but seems kind of pointless (the CGI prologue in halo 4 is purely design overlook in case anyone brings that up)

Noble Six is most definitely dead.
He was completely surrounded by Covenant forces, without a HUD, and probably going low on ammo. His armor was damaged.
And, he got a blade in the chest.
Not to mention the Visual Guide, Encyclopedia, and Halsey’s speech all say that he is dead. Unlike Jun, who was listed that his whereabouts were unknown.
And if Six did somehow manage to get out… how would he survive. He’s in the middle of a ship-breaking yard. An abandoned desert, a graveyard of ships. At least a dozen Covenant ships are in the background of the previous mission.
During Lone Wolf you can even hear nearby glassing.
The nail in the coffin… was that the Autumn was the last transport off that continent.
Given how 343 Industries has said that Chief is going to be front and center-stage for the Reclaimer Saga, but on Earth would that Spartan be anyone else but Chief, especially a Spartan that just happens to have an AI datachip?
There is speculation and then there is baseless speculation. This is firmly the latter.
cobra I wouldn’t even call it speculation. I was bored and had a funny thought that I figured would get some form of discussion on these forums. I feel that sometimes we are so set in our beliefs that we just throw way all other options instead of looking at all available ones. So it’s a simple question if for some way out there reason that not the MC, then whom could it be.

So it’s a simple question if for some way out there reason that not the MC, then whom could it be.
Because there isn’t any other available option. It has nothing to do with being set in your beliefs, its just Chief.
