so I haven’t played Halo 5 consistently since end of 2017 and it was pretty smooth back them. But I’m the last couple days in HCS I have played a full team of Champions when I’m a diamond 2. Just wondering how that works I guess.

There was a recent update to Halo 5’s matchmaking system which now utilizes True Skill 2. As a tl;dr - the old system placed you incorrectly, the new system is more accurate in placing you and matching skill level
I know it’s been awhile since I responded but if the ranks are more accurate then why am I getting absolutely destroyed every game I play by Onyx and Champs. I was a diamond 3 but now I’m plat 6 and I’m still matching onyx and champs.
Best thing to do would be to make a post over in the latest matchmaking feedback topic (it’s pinned in the same forum as the topic above). If you link up some matches, Dr. Menke can give you some feedback on what was happening
