<mark>I am not currently banned, nor have I ever been banned in Halo 4. I support quit banning because I hate JiP throwing me onto the losing team 90% of the time. I am not justifying nor defending the actions of the quitter. I am stating that 343 is going about this in an unethical manner. Please do not put words in my mouth or use strawman arguments attacking points I never made, as I will simply ignore them.</mark>

I was just wondering the justification which allows 343 to do this. It isn’t a MS thing, because it doesn’t happen in other games. If I quit out of CoD I don’t get banned from playing Halo, it is purely a Halo thing.
Now, nowhere on the game case, any inserts, anything anywhere, does the player acknowledge and agree to abide by a certain set of behavior.
Nowhere does it tell the player beforehand “Hey if you quit too many games, we’ll give you a temporary ban”, nor does the player ever agree to these conditions.
There is never any formal acknowledgement within the game that the player isn’t allowed to quit.
Now again, I support the quit ban. That being said, it puts a bad taste in my mouth that the player is never told that this isn’t acceptable behavior until AFTER the fact and they’re being punished.
What is 343’s justification for being allowed to do this? I honestly would like to know how they’ve come to determine that they have the right to punish people for not following an INVISIBLE code of standards which isn’t stated anywhere in the game.
Many other things like this website have a “Terms of service/use” which clearly state what is allowed, and what isn’t allowed. If you break a rule, having had prior knowledge of said rule, then consequences are justified.
You can’t have a “Terms of use for Halo players”, not tell them what it is, and then punish them after the fact.
I do not consider that to be ethical behavior, and I’d like to know the justification behind it please.
In the future, (Halo 5) please post these rules on the back of the display case so that people know before they spend their money (Since many places will not give a refund on an opened game) that there is a code of conduct which differs from XBL and tell them exactly what it entails.
