I dont find PO a problem. Sure the person who gets the ordnance has an advantage but not that much, he still has to know how to use the weapon he gets and if your good enough or stick with your team its pretty easy to kill him and take whatever he had or just guard it for 15 seconds when it despawns. The only problem is the bullet magnetism, it makes it a tad bit to easy to use said weapons. And flinch makes snipers overpowered. Thaty mo, discuss and please dont say its the same as cod just because the concept is the same. It yields totaly different results than a bomber getting kills for me.
The classic “You can win if they are unskilled and don’t know how to use it” argument.
If that’s the case I would win even without ordnance in the game because I’d be against bad opponents. Argument invalid.
If I can use teamwork to kill them, they can use teamwork to keep their weapons. You are applying logic to one side only, not both.
And really, the results are the same. I get a few kills from the CPU, or I go out and spam the Incineration Cannon, but the result is still me getting a bunch of easy kills.
I would like to have the old system back, where there are weapons on the map. But, if not, 343 could at least make it so that everyone gets the same ordinance choices.

True but it still boils down to who is skilled and who isnt. I skilled player will get kills the unskilled wont. And your not getting extremely powerful weapons all the time. Incineration cannon is rare. Oh and the difference is that im getting kills not the cpu which doesnt falter in its judgement like humans do. I could get a shotgun but run the wrong way and get picked off by a br or dmr user.

Shotguns aren’t hard to use.
SAW’s and Needlers aren’t hard to use.
Rockets aren’t hard to use.
The Railgun isn’t that hard to use.
The Beam Rifle is ridiculously easy to use.
The Binary Rifle only requires bodyshots.
The only skill you need is knowing how to position yourself. Unless you are getting Snipe Rifles in ordnance, it isn’t hard.
Also, not all killstreaks are CPU only. In fact, only the higher tiered ones are in general.
Which, it’s a silly system anyways, rewarding players who are already doing good so they stomp the enemy even harder.
By the way, that’s one thing CoD gets right: everyone can CHOOSE their ordnance. There is no randomness factor. There is no dice roll.
And even if ordnance wasn’t random, weapons on the map are diminished and usually are random.
Anyone can get kills as well. You don’t even get punished for dying with Ordnance, yet again something CoD did right that Halo 4 didn’t.
Enough is enough. The game needs balance, fairness and strategy badly. You can keep your infinity garbage in its own playlist, but making it the very core of the game is ridiculous. It isn’t remotely balanced, it isn’t remotely fair. It’s not what the game should revolve around. Ask anyone in the competitive scene and they will tell you the exact same thing.
Even the competitive settings contain a lot of these annoying aspects, no wonder Throwdown isn’t reaching its potential.

They should have titled the game “Halo Fiesta”
Im ok with getting personal ordinance at this point. As long as i have AA’s im allright.
> The Beam Rifle is ridiculously easy to use…
Isn’t that the one where a single shot to any part of your body and you are toast (literally)?
> Which, it’s a silly system anyways, rewarding players who are already doing good so they stomp the enemy even harder.
That seems to be the Halo 4 theme… Dominion is their crowning achievement.

That’s the Binary Rifle.
The Beam Rifle is the purple one where you can aim an inch off their body and still get a headshot.

But its also a problem because everyone picks the most destructive ones. Its worse in cod because its not a sandbox game halo is, a match depends on other factors other than guns. And i like to think from the noob perspective, hes not going to be THAT good with snipers(binary is the easiest though). Mabe a lucky kill bet soon he is out sniped by the other team or he is rushed, but yea some weapons arent hard to use i said this in the first post. Magnetism makes it less balanced, just fix that and the chances and were good.

My bad… thanks…
Don’t think from the noob perspective.
Games shouldn’t be designed to hold noob’s hands. Games should be designed to allow noobs to ease into them, and then encourage the noobs to do better.
Halo 3 had this with ranks. You played against other noobs until you were good enough to be paired against good players (ignoring de-ranking -Yoink–holes who liked to troll).
Watering the entire game down to appeal to noobs isn’t the solution. Halo had Dual Wielding for this. Halo had easy to use weapons for this. Halo had social playlists for this.
It didn’t need any of the -Yoink- it has now, especially not spanned across the entire matchmaking spectrum.
The sniper rifle isn’t “some weapons” either. It is a single power weapon out of the others which are all easy to use.
What i meant was that we think its easy because we are good at it. A noob who doesnt play as much isnt going to be as experienced with the weapon he has as we are. I dont think the game should cater holding hands and didnt say the game should, once again it just needs some tweeks and it only gets harder for them which is fine. And every halo has easy weapons and h4 is no exception but yes to many are easy to use. Magnetism is a hell of a drug for noobs. I just used sniper rifles as an example bdy the way.
That’s what ordnance inherently does, at least in its current form.
It hands victories out to teams at random. Your skill doesn’t matter. Not everyone can 5-shot or strafe effectively, but I can guarantee anyone above the noob level can use a SAW or Shotgun effectively.
That applies to global ordnance as well. If Monolith is a symmetrical map then why the -Yoink- does one team get a shotgun while the other gets a SAW? Why do each of the four pillars all have different weapons at them?
Globle ordinance is -Yoinked!- up i know that but im talking about personal ordnance. And skill most deffinately matters even if its not as much, it only takes one error in judgement and your dead, and the despawning weapon speed is fast so that if you die with, say a needler, then you most likely wont see it again unless the guy who killed you is using it again. It also depends on the map. If you pick a saw on ragnarok, you will die almost instantly because of the amout of long range guns used on that map. I have not played on monolith yet so shhhhh dont spoil it for me!
> By the way, that’s one thing CoD gets right: everyone can CHOOSE their ordnance. There is no randomness factor. There is no dice roll.
Care Package would like to have a word with you. Engineer would also like a word with you. Care Package is random and then engineer allows you to re-roll to get something else. Most of the time the combination of Care Package and Engineer will lead to getting something that isn’t even player controller(which takes literally 0 skill) and will get 3-15 kills on it’s own… That is kinda bs and random if you ask me. At least PO mixed with Requisition you get something that you have A) either have to use successfully to pick up a few kills or B)It’s a power up and basically runs out within one kill(OS included). I know that PO is still kinda bs but to say that CoD doesn’t have this same random factor is laughable.
I agree, its a little messed up but its not that bad, it yields different results in a match than the free kills you can get with a lightning strike, and During a match im not concerned about how he got a sticky detonator because power weapons are still not used as much as primaries, so each match isnt just rockets vs snipers. Its as if he found it on the map to me at least, and i do pretty good in my matches.
Personal Ordnance is a great idea. The problem is that it was not implemeted correctly. The matter of the fact is that no one likes randomness in HALO. Map and weapon spawn control has always been a great part of this game but with the hope of keeping map flow and fast pace 343i introduce PO and Random ordnance.
Now if they were to implement a feature in the hoppers that all PO is set to maybe ammo, greandes and a power-up then it would be a bit better even if they kept the RandoM Ordnance because there wouldnt be multiple Power weapons on a map like SkylinE or Haven where you can run into Sticky detonators and Shotguns on a regular basis. The same goes for BTB, you know what I mean all those camo snipers in the back farming kill just so they can get another Power Weapon(most likely another sniper) to keep up their K/D and what not.
I love the idea but I hate how it was implemented. 343i has done a great job listening to the community but they took to long to do so, which is why now the highes point in population during the week is around 70,000. I hope they have learned much from their mistakes and realize that eventhough this Community is sometimes they care a lot for this franchise. I mean do you really think 343i would have nerfed theBoltshot(eventhough its still a OSKW)if it wasnt for the multiple thread since the first week this game was out? We are still trying to explain to them how the DMR is OP(crazy aim assit, long range, etc.) and how the Ordnance is to random sometimes and should be contained a bit more.
Hopefully they pay more attention to their community and we can have an amazing game when Halo 5 releases.
Personal ordnance was fine until the meta game evolved and people started pairing requisition and ammo. Now, its ruining the game. If every player on a team has a sniper/shotgun/rocket launcher, its just not fun, especially for those who haven’t unlocked requisition and are getting plasma grenades and speed boosts in their ordnance. You can’t move around due to multiple power weapon users locking down the map. If I see an enemy team with more than two snipers at once, or two people camping a room with shotguns/rockets, I just turn off the game. That sort of gameplay isn’t entertaining for me, even when I’m the one doing it.
