Okay, we all saw the awesome Halo 2 Anniversary trailer (Or H2A, meh)
But there’s something I noticed…I don’t know if it’s just there for the lulz, or if it means something, BUT when Locke turns from the screen that shows the Chief giving the Covenant back their bomb, you can see a still from Halo 5’s first trailer.
The still if of the Chief in his poncho looking up at the Forerunner construct. This would imply that his meeting with the Arbiter took place AFTER Halo 4 AND that it took place AFTER the Chief found whatever he was looking for on wherever.
But the question remains, how did they get that still?
Personally, I think it was just thrown in out of laziness, but considering the fact that it’s a trailer for the Master Chief Collection and NOT Halo 5, it really stood out to me.
Anyway, discuss!
The trailer is pretty much for both MCC and Halo 5.
Also I don’t think the image of Chief from the first Halo 5 trailer is actually there in that room with Agent Locke and the Arbiter. I’m pretty sure it’s there just for dramatic reasons for the viewer.
Well it’s been pretty heavily implied so far that Locke is going to visit places, including Sanghelios, where Master Chief visited at some point in his wanderings, following in MC’s footsteps if you will.
So it makes some sense that Locke being on Sanghelios would happen a good long while after MC had already passed through.
Dramatic effect probably.
A few of the camera angles from the beginning of the trailer aren’t in keeping with CCTV and Helmet Cam footage either.
I think it was there to demonstrate that we’re Chief’s journey up until just before that point. To tie in that trailer from last year.
I don’t think any of that trailer is canon. Locke meeting with the Arbiter is probably something we’ll be seeing in Halo 5, and that will be canon.
Why do people keep saying that 343 does stuff out of laziness? Do you have any idea how much Microsoft has riding on the success of this franchise?

I didn’t mean it in an offensive sort of way, more of a “we already have something tied into this era of the franchise, so let’s use it.”
I ain’t hurtin’ or flamin’ no one. Just an -Yoink!- ysis
