Frank O’Connor confirmed that halo 4 has been in production for three years in an interview with Xbox magazine on November 19th.
yeah i read an article about that.
So hopefully since its been in development for that long that it leaps in front and beats the hell out of bad games like COD.
Does that mean that it will have almost 4 yrs of development in the end?

Actually it will just have 4 years because it’s coming out holiday 2012 (november to december) which will mean it will most likely be a very very good game based on the fact the companys full of legends. Also Skyrim, the game that is extremely detailed and massive and has extremely good gameplay, it was in development for a total of 3 years. Well well well, they are definitely hiding allot of it from us. I’m going to gess the games going to be god no?

amen BROTHA
Ya it should be the best halo yet because they have had so long to tweak almost every little detail. I’m not saying its going to be perfect but it must be damn near or else i will be upset over the effort they put into it.
I think Halo 4 will be awful…they haven’t even taken any suggestions from fans (maybe that’s a good thing?) no but seriously that just means they did what they want…and look at reach.

Who said they haven’t taken suggestions from fans? It is not like the staff goes around saying “What a great idea we will defiantly use that in Halo 4” - when they see a good idea on the forums. Devs usually keep silent.
Beside Reach was not a 343I creation.
I’m sure a year of that is just speculation and info-gathering (pre-production)

… But they didn’t do Reach…

Bungie makes games they want to play -_-
Can someone give me the interview link?!
The fact they’ve been working on it for 3 years now gives me high hopes for this.
it was in 3 years in development and all they could show us on halo fest were a bunch of stupid concept art?
Old news is ancient. Games always usually have a few years of development under their belt before they even get announced.
Wow.
So by the time it is going to be released, it will have 4 years of development, on top of Halo Reach’s engine.
That is awesome.
This game is going to be amazing.

I don’t believe they took any suggestions from the fans for Halo:CE, and the community says it was their best game. Now in my opinion Reach was excellent as with all the Halo titles. Let the grizzled ancients sculpt their epic masterpiece, they do a very good job of listing to their fans.
Don’t worry your little head.
More importantly. Does this mean I have to wait 3-4 years to see the squeal of Halo 4 and 5?
That would mean by the time Halo 6 would be released it would be 2020 at the most.
Do not want.

A lot of rumors I’ve heard are saying that with Halo now being done by 343i (basically Microsoft) they want something to compete with CoD EVERY year, I’m hoping this isn’t true as I think Halo would grow stale and suffer tremendously (story-wise) if they were shooting for a “ever year” release date. However, if they’ve been working on Halo 4 for awhile, it’s safe to say they’ve already begun pre-production on Halo 5.
