just a few questions

who is the Librarian and their current status?
who is mendicant bias and their current status?
what is installation 00/04?
Who is the didact?
Who is the offensive bias?

From what i read one of the reasons the forerunner lost the war against the flood is because they were very peace oriented and eventually removed all their weapons from their world…that, and their leader defected to the flood because he went rampant.
I’m just asking these questions to get a little more info. I know somewhat about the Halo universe

No, the Forerunner lost the war because they took too long to recognize the flood as a threat. The Forerunner were almost warmongering, as they constantly attacked societies who were too close to being as good as them (for religious reasons, but…). Read the Mendicant Bias section for more info. The Covenant has nothing whatsoever to do with everything else going on in these questions. No offense, but I think you might need to read a bit more.

The Librarian is a lifeshaper, a Forerunner protector of life. She was the wife of the Didact, and worked on a plan to preserve life during the firing of a Halo Array. She convinced the Master Builder to protect her precious humans on the Halos, as well as form the Shield Installations. She gathered samples of all the sentient life in the Galaxy (those who would die for hosting the Flood), storing them on the Ark as well. She, in her great wisdom, installed geas into her humans, so that the knowledge of their ancient warriors would not be lost. She died on Earth during the Halo actitivation, to keep the Flood from getting to the lesser ark through the portal. After Primordium, it is believed a geas or some similar technology preserved her through the ages up to modern times.

During the Flood’s assault on Forerunner civilization, Mendicant Bias was the ultimate compound ancilla (forerunner AI), designed to perfectly counter the flood’s attacks. However, he was convinced by that time period’s Gravemind (flood intelligence) to betray Forerunners, and he did that by entering Rampancy (madness) willingly… Later on, he ended up on a massive Forerunner keyship/dreadnought, the same one at the center of High Charity. He was awoken by the Covenant discovery of Humanity, before being short-circuited (something like that) Later on, the Keyship was brought to the ark, where he repented his acts and tried to make up for it, by theoretically saving the chief (that is what it sounded like). Because the Ark was apparently seriously damaged, it is believed he is dead, or

Installation 00 is the Lesser Ark, as seen in Halo 3. Installation 04, or Alpha Halo, is the first Halo discovered, in Halo CE. The Ark can activate the Halo Array from outside the Milky Way, keeping you safe. It also builds replacement Halos. I assume you know what the Halo Array is, so I feel no need to describe their exact process. I will do it, of course, if you wish.

The Didact is the Leader of the Forerunner Armada. He commands the entire Army, and led the majority of assaults in the Human-Forerunner war. His Wife is the Librarian, who he worked with to save humans, on the Halos, Shield Installations, and the Arks. He transferred his consciousness into the body of Bornstellar Makes Eternal Lasting, who became the didact in all but blood. He was the one finally activated the Halos, and vanquished the Primordial, learning the truth of the Flood’s ‘cure.’ His eternal foe was the Lord of Admirals, his human equivalent, Forthenco. It was under his commission that Mendicant Bias was wrought, and later Offensive Bias.

Offensive Bias was created to eradicate the Beggar After Knowledge, Mendicant Bias. His mind was more narrowly focused, to prevent a second Mendicant, and he successfully scored impressive victories over the Flood. However, the Flood simply had too many forces, large numbers, and so they resorted to the final solution, the Halo Array. It is believed Offensive was either deactivated or destroyed, but the truth is still unknown for now.

Here are a few links that can answer you questions, but I still suggest to read Didact Legen777’s post.

Mendicant bias or Mendicant bias

Installation 00 or Installation 00

Installation 04 or Installation 04

offensive bias or offensive Bias

the Librarian or the Librarian

the didact or the didact and the didact

for some reason Halo Nation has two pages on the didact so I included both.

Why don’t you just play the games and buy the books? Those are the most reliable sources of information.

I assume Reach was your first Halo game.

But yeah, you really should just play Halo 3. It’s a lot more interesting when you “experience” it “first-hand”.

No no, i’ve played all of them lol, BUT i skipped the cutscenes. I thought the story was stupid and didn’t understand it so i skipped the cutscenes. I just liked the action in the game and the scenery. And the multiplayer of course, but the campaign had epic missions. Earlier on i accidentally said that the leader of the forerunners went over to the covenant, i meant to say flood; i re-edited it though. What i’m going to do now is play Halo CE, 2, and 3 all over again and actually watch the cutscenes.

The Halo Essentials Disc already has the cutscenes for Halo CE/2, so that speeds things up.

So now that the story suddenly means something, you try to catch up on 7 games worth, and MANY books?

Ummm… no Flood joined the Covenant. The Elites allied with the UNSC, though…

then why don’t you do the smarter option and just youtube the cinematics instead of asking all these questions?

BAHAHAHAHA! I love this place. Canon is butchered before its even fully formed.

BAHAHAHAHA! I love this place. People flame others without even pointing out their (usually accidental) error.

I think you misunderstood what i meant. I meant the leader of the forerunners joined the gravemind (flood) in stopping the forerunner war.

Again, wrong. I assume you’re referring to Mendicant Bias. The was a Contender-class AI built to combat the Gravemind. Instead, the Gravemind seduced Bias into joining him. And Bias was not the leader of the Forerunners. I’m not sure anyone knows who the leader of the Forerunners is. Closest person to it is The Didact or The Master Builder.

Anyway, read Primordium. That’ll clear up your questions about Mendicant Bias and the Gravemind.

Medicant bias was repurposed and the primordial is not a gravemind.

> Medicant bias was repurposed and the primordial is not a gravemind.

Most facts point to him being a gravemind.

lol, noooooo

especially seeing how the composer was walking around with the librarian and the Didact.

> lol, noooooo

> especially seeing how the composer was walking around with the librarian and the Didact.

What…? Most facts have lead the conclusion that the Primordial is in fact a Gravemind. I appreciate the your highly detailed rebuttal and well researched facts shown in the concise opening statement: “lol, noooooo”

I thought you meant “most facts point to the composer being a gravemind”

Even so the primordial still isn’t a gravemind seeing how it acts nor looks nothing like a gravemind; It has eyes, legs, arms, can speak to you telepathically, skin that changes color, etc.

That isn’t a gravemind just an infected precursor. Not to mention if it truly was any type of gravemind it would have absorbed all the un-infected humans it could have seeing how it needs biomass to live. So no it wasn’t a gravemind.
