Juneteenth - there's a mis-step here. (It's not celebrating Juneteenth, that's good!)

Nice to see a Norse sister/brother (sorry I saw your pronouns but I don’t know how to write it in English).
Have you learned ancient practices since your childhood or recently ?

While waiting for your answer, I have some clarifications to make you, avoid saying religions when talking about our ancient practices, you yourself used the word “pagan Nordic” (which means: without religions) but perhaps it was to make you understand your interlocutors. This word has a pejorative connotation, it was used by Catholics (radicals at the time, I do not want to make an amalgam) to designate us as barbarians.

If you wish I would be happy to teach you more about our ancient customs

Yeah, I know about the negative connotations of Pagan. It’s something I use so the layman outside of our circles has any idea what we’re talking about. A lot more people know what a Norse Pagan is instead of Asatru - but obviously, I did include that to spread the concept a little. My apologies - I hope you understand my reasoning.

2019 adoption, doing my best. A hectic life makes it difficult.

Sure! More help is always good.

"I’m glad I have you on ignore, nothing you say has value. "

You say this to everyone, am I supposed to feel offended about this? As a matter of fact, you make incorrect assumptions quite often about others on this platform. If you encounter someone with an opposing viewpoint you immediately dismiss them before they can even finish their piece. Ironic you complain about God complexes when you seem to have one yourself, placing yourself at the top of course.

Are you sure this is about opposing viewpoints and not just hating what he’s saying?

You’re so focused on the good of the UNSC that you can’t see the bad.

Chief’s a good man being employed by a company that slanders him.

Did I not include a section in my initial response detailing the corrupt systems and members within the UNSC?

I read your posts. It’s time for you to actually read mine.

It’s not just corruption. The entire system is set up against chief.

He’s treated like a tool.

Maybe you should read the books a little more.

There’s a whole story somewhere of ONI heavily slandering the Master Chief. After all he did for humanity. Does that sound like a minor incident to you?

No? Really? :unamused:

That’s what makes it WRONG, genius. You don’t go backstabbing soldiers who are fighting for you.

If this is how they treat their own, how do you think they treat ordinary citzens? And all of a sudden the calling the UNSC fascist makes a whole lot more sense.

Wat? So your issue is not that the CEO and Community Manager didn’t apologize… it’s that they apologized on a frequently used communication platform that you personally don’t like?

It’s the biggest social media platform on the planet right now so it makes sense that it’s gonna reach a lot more people than waypoint forums can.

I’m glad they apologized but they need to make sure their QA is paying attention.

Now not everyone knows what a Bonobo is but they could’ve at least double checked the name of the coating.

Now if they did know, well I guess they’ll need to find a new job.

Weak mindset.

Don’t let people hold power over you, especially the power to silence.

An apology isn’t really needed. They’ve explained what happened, it was a mistake, one that needs to be moved on from.

It’s called having empathy instead of contempt.

Biggest social media right now is FB…but I am not going to waste my time on a discussion like this.

What I am trying to say, is that this also should have being done via Halo website, not just twitter.

Well, you’ve seen people handle topics like this on the forums. I’d say it’s best you don’t post it here.

Just because some people can’t empathize like normal humans.

I never said I disliked twitter, they can apologize anywhere they like, but I think they should apologize here on the Halo website as it’s where the community comes to check most news about updates, and its the OFFICIAL site, not just twitter.

There really is no harm in posting an apology in multiple places.

I meant to “send it” not bait it. My bad.

Gamers and Empathy rarely go well together, sadly. I don’t really know why.

This is also true, though.

Not apologizing =/ contempt.

In this particular situation, most see no reason to make such a big deal over a word that was unintentionally used. 343 have addressed the issue and moved on to more important things, as should we. Empathy should not be needed, just say yikes, point out the problem, and go about our day.

Gamers happen to give a lot of empathy, some just like to focus on the negativity the most, because it gets the most attention in our victim culture. The gaming community has raised millions of dollars for St. Jude, Gamers for Giving, mental health, etc. It’s just that it doesn’t really need to be given over a harmless mistake.
