June 3rd Update

Ive been keeping up on this weapons update as much as anyone else and im super excited for it, but im a little curious. First: Does anyone know if these changes will affect spartan ops at all? and Second: are the regular mounted machine gun turret and Plasma cannon still going to be as useful as they are now? i personally think if they don’t increase the power on those too then new loadout kill times will make them useless, kinda like a heavy assault rifle that i can’t sprint with.

It will only affect multiplayer (that includes mounted turrets) and not spartan ops (as far as I know).

It makes sense that it wouldnt affect spartan ops. the ar kills a grunt in 3-4 shots(on normal) as is, so a damage buff would make it too easy. My real concern is the turrets tho. The only thing i’ve seen about turrets is the warthog and mantis chain gun. While the Turrets are incredibly powerful, a BR as it is now can win a 1v1 without much trouble. And im a PT so turrets are my thing. if the new kill times make the turret unable to win against a BR in a 1v1 then i will be terribly upset.

The changes are gametype-based similar to Halo: Reach meaning they will only occur in War Games. It is possible to save the gametypes from your temporary history and play them in custom games as well.

As for the machine gun turrets, they haven’t been announced to change, just the Warthog & Mantis chainguns.
