Am I the only person who is scared of the weapon balance changes coming June and how they might break the core gameplay?

I’m just wondering if the BR will become too powerful.
I’m…on edge. But I’m sure it’ll be done right… this time.
No you are not the only one who is worried, but that is part of the reason this update is taking so long. Quinn and Bravo want to make sure the weapon settings are as close to perfect as they can get them and they want Halo 4 to be a better game as a result. They know what they are doing and are testing the hell out these new settings, I’m sure they will be great.

I sure hope so, this is the make or break stage for H4
I can’t wait for it. Right now, I really don’t enjoy Matchmaking because of the DMR, sadly.
how could it? do you think the DMR is TOO powerful now? the BR has both Spread and recoil to stop it from being “too powerful”
i just hope the Carbine buff make it more viable vs the DMR.
> I’m just wondering if the BR will become too powerful.
The BR is goin to have a slower rate of fire. They are testing the HELL out of these settings.
All will be good.
It’s going to be fun. I have a friend who is waiting to try the carbine, I am as well and the magnum.

WHAT??? The BR shoots so slowly as it is. I can beat neary everyone that has a br with a dmr or two punches. WTH is 343i thinking making an already abysmally slow weapon even slower? IDC how much more damage it’s going to do, it doesn’t need a speed nerf, IMO.

No offense meant, but I trust Bravo a Yoink-of-allot more than I trust you.
BR is getting buffed to 4 shot kill. Speed decrease is needed to prevent a return to a Halo 2/3 style BR game-wide dominance.

The LR is. It had perfect power/skill ratio before, and I have a feeling with its changes it’s practically going to become the new DMR.

I totally agree on that statement, although i am optimistic about this TU. Can’t wait for my beloved 4 shot kill BR
The DMR already craps all over the other precisions. How could they possibly break balance more than it currently is? I’m looking forward to the update.
I agree with these changes. They are trying to balance all weapons (making assault rifle more powerful with less aim-assist to balace the br’s 4 shot kill, making dmr red reticule range equal to light rifles as well as carbine buff) all-in-all this is an improvement.
Honestly, a slower rate of fire with increased recoil vs the dmr makes sense logically (shooting a 3-round burst vs one round)
I really think they should test these changes in a playlist before applying them to the game as a whole. Internal testing will only go so far, and it never accounts for things like Host Connection lag, randoms vs teams, and extreme differences in player skill.
On June 3rd we will NOT be receiving a TU. I hate people that say this. We will be receiving a matchmaking update that changes all the gametypes in Matchmaking. You won’t have to update anything to play the weapon changes. If you want to play with the new weapon tweaks in custom games, you will have to download them from matchmaking.
Meh, I expect overall kill times to be reduced and team shooting to become almost instant death, but Im not worried.
My style of playing will mesh well with this, but the run and gun crowd are going to have a rude awakening.
I’m kind of worried about it. I’ve just started getting into the whole matchmaking thing. I’ve gotten pretty comfortable with how everything works. I don’t want to have to get used to a new system.
While I am psyched for the weapon changes, I am more psyched that the learned lessons on weapons, gametypes and playlists already implemented will make it into vanilla Halo 5. I get the feeling Halo 5 will be the Halo 2 of this trilogy, and that excites me.
Regarding the changes to Halo 4, all it will do is make the BR (and for the skilled) Carbine the rifles of choice for smaller maps, and the LR the weapon of choice for larger. The DMR becomes the literal ‘utility’ rifle - good at all ranges, master at none, and that’s awesome.
