First of all, after reach, it was left at a cliff hanger: did Jun and Halsey survive? and well from halo 4 we kinda just accepted that yes Halsey did survive.
But what about Jun?.. He went with her, so his fate was probably going to be the same as Halsey’s. Could he be alive?
If so… could he be brought back in into spartan ops, maybe he’s already on board infinity as a different alias. and if he is around, is he still a spartan III or has he changed?
If you read the books then you know that Halsey and Jun aren’t together. A very small amount of Spartans survive the fall of reach like Fred and Linda but Jun was never mentioned in the fall or reach or any other books. It is likely that he died protecting Halsey or he died when Reach got glassed.
no hes not coming back…why is everyone obsessed with this dolt?
read a fist full of arrows.
A fist full of arrows wasnt cannon. Anyway why leave a cliff hanger if your not following up on it?
He is truely MIA.
There is no proof he died on Reach.
He could have been capsured or escaped with an phantom.
But I’m impressed to see him back.
I’ts possible that he’s still somewhere, alive and well, possibly had the oportunity like most SIII to become a IV, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him there.
Jun is dead
It was confirmed in Halsey’s Journal that “her transport had fallen”.
The man is dead
His body is burned and turned to glass
IT is canon that he is dead
He is never ever coming back
Most of Reach isn’t even canon and broke a lot of it
It would be good to see what happened to him, since Reach is pretty about the events leading up to Noble Team’s end.
I’ve always been annoyed by the lack of finite end Jun had. Even if it was a simple Shhhhhddt!! “Oh look, he’s dead”, then I’d have accepted that.
Since not even that was included, I’d like to see him mentioned again even on a quick video screen on a Ship in Halo 5 or something…
Wouldn’t really call it a cliff hanger…
> Wouldn’t really call it a cliff hanger…
No, true. But it was a loose end.
> A fist full of arrows wasnt cannon. Anyway why leave a cliff hanger if your not following up on it?
It’s not a cliffhanger. A cliffhanger is when you intentionally leave the plot open. Reach’s plot was tied up. We knew years before Reach that Halsey made it off the planet thanks to First Strike. The whole point of Jun leaving was that we would never know his fate.
The entire point of Reach was to show that the Covenant was a force to be reckoned with and that the war wasn’t all heroics and victories as the other games would suggest (other media show this but the events we played, which reached a much wider audience, always ended in victory). The point of Noble Team was to show a more honest depiction of the war. The members died in many ways, depicting many different fates. Some sacrificed themselves to help their comrades, others sacrificed themselves but achieved nothing in doing so, some were killed suddenly without warning, and others have fates that will forever remain a mystery. Jun represented the soldiers whose fates are never known.
“Spartans never die, they are just missing in action. If only that were true”
-Dr. Catherine Halsey

Wow! Cheers, Champ!

It isn’t canon and not official.
I always thought it was heavily implied when 343 showed the trailer for the Defiant Map Pack.
A spartan dressed exactly like Jun can be seen lying dead on the ground by the pelican.
Thought they were trying to say without saying that he died around that area on Reach.

It was a reference to the Spartan-IIs that died falling to Reach when their Pelican was shot down in First Strike, if you’ll notice multiple Spartans are lying dead. You are referring to the “Story of the Defiant Map Pack” trailer right?

Right Right, I got that part about the Spartan II’s cause they showed S2’s in the trailer and they were all wearing Reach’s default MkV.
That’s why the body of Jun stuck out for me there.
Should pull it up and re-watch it.

Spartan III weren’t given the opportunity. As far as anyone knows they’re all dead. The Spartan IIs were given the opportunity to join the program.
