Now I’m sure some if not a lot of you have played Titanfall. From the multiplayer to the second to last campaign mission when you are dropped from space to the battlefield. Now with a lot of things, I believe will improve the upcoming Halo games but at the same time, they need to be looked at and carefully analyzed.
There are things people want that wont effect game play but improve the look of it, like myself, I would enjoy players jumping to the battlefield instead of the usual spawn in with the initial spawn point. That said, what if 343i added that animated feature where you spawn in on a pelican and jump to the battlefield like Titanfall does, or before the match starts and you have the initial countdown, within that count down, player Spartans will automatically move into a drop pod and be shot to the battlefield (remember through this is nothing more than a animation). Within those seconds or however long, you will be able to pick your class if loadouts make a return or start with what’s given to you.
If this feature were to ever happen, Forge should also get this feature to do because it will simply add more to Machinima.
After landing the match begins.
Discuss.
I think I remember ages ago before Halo 4 released I suggested something like dropping onto the battlefield. I’d definitely love to be able to do that in MP. Though it probably would only work with a few maps.

Correct. Initial spawns would be limited to outdoor places due to having drop pods, which is an unfortunate downside. However most maps in Halo take place somewhere outdoors so this is not an entirely huge problem.
OP:
Is this a default or toggleable option, because I can see this ruining some immersion in custom games such as Left 4 Dead or creepier things.

They could just be teleported in like the Ordnance pods do when a player orders for one to drop in an in door area. It’d be silly but I guess it’s better then limiting our spawn options.

Yes, it would set up like so, you go into Forge and under spawning the option to add a spawn that is a initial drop pod spawn but if you didn’t want that, you would just set down a initial spawn instead.
So what do you guys think on this idea? Though if implemented right it will be a cool addition without changing gameplay.
I feel like it would be pretty hard to do with most game types but if Invasion comes back, and I really hope it does, then that we be the coolest entry for the attacking side.
However, canonically this doesn’t quite make sense. With Halo 4 teams are fighting each other as training on the HoloDeck. Yes you could “simulate” an ODST esque landing on the deck, but it doesn’t quite make sense.
Still I would LOVE to see this in one side objective games mode. (Invasion, 1 bomb Assault, 1 Flag, and a possible 1 sided Dominion)
Well it could work with all gamemodes since a lot of the time you are playing outside. I can see it being a good addition to the series. Well with the MP being part of the campaign in Halo 4 it honestly has nothing to do with the campaign. Beside I think MP should not have anything to with campaign ever again.
When I think about what made playing Titanfall fun to me, the initial “drop” doesn’t make the list at all. It makes no difference to me if we’re spawned, dropped, teleported, or catapulted; the result is the same. Not only does it have zero impact on gameplay, but it loses its aesthetic novelty after the first ten times.
However, I think something similar, such as a flyover in the ten seconds leading up to the start of the match that ends with the camera zooming to the player’s head, could give players a sense of orientation.

Like I stated before it will not be affecting gameplay but is there to give the game a addition to spawning in, and yes while it might lose its aesthetic novelty after a few times, it makes a better appearance than just spawning in. Either you won’t care.
Also your idea seems good as well and everyone is entitled to their own suggestions, again it will lose the aesthetic novelty just like my idea, but I’ve yet to hear someone complaining about Titanfall’s spawn in system. Again it’s just an addition for looking rather than a game changer.
I think something similar to this would be better.
Halo Should Have This!
I wouldn’t mind something like this. In Halo 3 ODST, dropping down in the pod was great. Though it might become a little repetitive, like it has in Titanfall.
Being repetitive should be about gameplay not about an opening animation. Simply you can ignore it but I say if it doesn’t effect the game then why not add it?
So if this a good idea what would you do to make this better?
