Hi! Since its release, Halo 5 has continually received a lot of hate regarding everything from the Campaign and Arena qualifying to lack of content and now the latest update. Do you think there’s a ‘trend’ developing where players jump on the bandwagon and hate on this game? From what I can see, the majority of threads on this forum are hating on Halo 5.
Do you think people are hating on Halo 5 simply because lots of other people are - jumping on the bandwagon so to speak?
I can’t seriously imagine a person liking Halo 5 after playing it and then hoping onto these forums, see a bunch of random complaints and then go on a complaint rampage because “everyone else is doing it”. An opinion is already formed, if they however do start complaining, that’s because their opinion changed when they were presented with arguments in a complaint.

Nobody enjoys complaining on the forum, you don’t gain anything out of it. People see faults in the game, come here and see other’s complaining, and then might decide that this is the place to complain and do so, but they don’t complain just to complain.
Yes and no. Yes in the sense that the negative outcry probably outweighs the actual faults of the game. No in the sense that this game is hella disappointing to a lot of people for a number of valid reasons.
There will always be complainers on these types of forums, but 343 really has to do a better job and not make it so damn easy for the haters to “hate”. I mean, I am one of the people who defended Halo 4, but how can I actually defend this game when I can’t even play Oddball two months after release?
I’d say a lot of the complaints really are valid and fairly widespread. It does seem that you’ll find users who encounter something in a post and then it becomes glaringly obvious to them on occasion. Not quite bandwagoning, more like being exposed to a compelling argument.

Anyway to prove that claim? Because as long as you’re not talking about yourself, I think you should not try to judge peoples motivations…
I can only talk for mself but I’d gladly spent less time on several forums and use this time to play games but sadly, H5 (and Reach, and H4 and the MCC, even HCE-3 had flaws but they still did enough right to not upset mw too much) is making it not really easy
It’s not a conspiracy, people complain because they aren’t happy.
There are legit complaints, but then also the population of trolls is high around here
I want to make sure my complaints are legit, and I really want to like this game, but when there’s so many obvious problems, and fanboys defending some of the dumbest decisions 343 has made, it gets a little daunting.

There are certainly a lot of fanboys defending stupid decisions made by 343. Tbh, they’re more annoying than the normal trolls.
