Jumping Between PC and Xbox Consoles Resets Various Game Options

Hi everyone,

I mentioned in another thread that I recently re-installed Halo Infinite on my PC (Microsoft Store version) and that I normally play on my Xbox consoles.

I noticed when moving between platforms (I was playing MP on my PC with a bit of Campaign, and a lot of Campaign on my Xbox Series X this weekend), while the data does sync up, various game options seem to reset every time.

This would be:

  • Subtitles turn back on as opposed to Automatic
  • The game’s Brightness value resets back to default
  • And in game tips and tutorials are once again enabled

Is there anyone else that plays between platforms and has noticed this? When I was playing between PC and Xbox One X back in February and March, this was not happening.

This also happens to me. These settings reset all the time for me when switching between PC/Xbox:
-Reticle opacity
-In-game hints
-Scoreboard hold/release
-Subtitles
-Vertical/horizontal display margin

Okay, good to know it’s not just me. Some of those options I don’t change myself but I figure they’d get reset as well.

I did a test last night going from Xbox One X to Xbox Series X, and the settings did not reset, so it seems to be a specific PC to console thing.

I only play on an Xbox Series S, and the brightness resets every time I start the game. Same for MCC. I have summited a ticket for both, for months. No results.

That is odd. I have not experienced these settings resetting on their own on the same console in either game. I don’t have an Xbox Series S so perhaps it’s a platform-specific bug?
