Story goes, I was in a match, things were off to a good start. I go in for an attack on this base, and out comes 40 Jump Pack Brutes, and they ran past my army, to my base, and destroyed it in seconds! He just ran from base to base destroying them, and my units couldn’t kill any!
So next game, I play as Atriox, and did what he did. Made 40 units of the brutes, upgrading the infantry perks, and destroyed the enemies in seconds. I did it for 4 games, and won all the them in minutes. Making people quit.
Now this unit needs to be nerf, or no one will play the final product. Either have it so only 2 brutes per unit max. Reduce the damage they do, or even replace the hammers with a plasma rifle. Something needs to be done about this unit, because they make the scarab look like a grunt.
Until then, I’m gonna go back on the battlefield with my 40 Jump Pack Brute units, and make kids quit.
If nothing is done, then this game will flop.
P.S. if you don’t believe me, then give it a try yourself.
I dunno, form what I hear top tier players only play cutter or banshee spam Atriox. You can keep using Jump Packs, but at the top level they don’t seem so useful.

The game in which I first discovered this nightmare, I had air units, mostly Vultures, and this player used their ability to jump and land on my Vulture, killing it in a second, from full health. There was absolutely nothing I could do to stop them.

to summarize this-
there are some jerks who can spam one unit to win and it really annoyed me. so I will make a point by doing exactly what they did.
really man? really

He’ll get stomped if he doesn’t, why lose when you don’t have to? Pride is a barrier to victory!
i have witnessed the mass banshee attack, but remember what Ghost in the shell taught us. If you over specialize in 1 thing you breed in weakness. The key is scouting your enemy’s bases. if you know they are massing brutes which are anti building. you need to build up turrets with anti infintry upgrade and have enough snipers to counter. I’ve defeated vulture spam with turres and banshees and the AA ground units as well as brutes with well timed leader powers plus jackles plus suicide grunts etc. I’ve seen simple flamer rushes just tear up people because they didn’t scout or understand how to counter… but there will be several balance passes in the end, i’m sure these things will be worked out.

That’s a good idea for now, actually, guess I’ll give Atriox a break and use Cutter’s range advantage.
Every single match everyone plays the brutes and jumpacks their way to victory… BROKEN!!!
That strat only works on noobs. And, it can actually be avoided within the first 5 minutes of the game.
Had so many people try this on me and fail miserably.

I’d like to take you at face so I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt on that claim, what on The Ark were you using to counter 240 brutes?

ROFL? Im plat 5, and see them spammed constantly, and I lose everytime my opponant spams them. They are unkillable when fully upgraded. Their health needs a nerf, and their price and make time needs to be increased substantually, just like flame troops.

I asked you a question so you PM me about skill and how you’ll “hunt me down,” out of courtesy I won’t post our conversation.
This was never about skill, it’s about game balance and an overpowered unit, so pretty please with a cherry on top, could you answer my question?
I have over 100 wins 0 losses with cutter the brute is weak. If the brute is getting full pop of brutes then you’re doing something wrong.
Ah yes, complaining casuals. Reminds me of the old days. More specifically, this.
I ran into this today. I had a fully shielded and turreted base with banshee defenses and the brutes just walked past and destroyed it.
I would not pre-order this game or order it unless I knew this was fixed. Hopefully 343 can tweak this before the beta is over. This is what betas are for at least.
