Has the date of the July event been announced yet? If not, when will it be announced? I don’t want to get my hopes up for an event July 1st and then figure out the event is on July 30th.
The July event has not officially been given a date yet. It’s not known when we’ll find out the date. If I had to guess, I’d say they’ll tell us in the next 3 week when it’ll be. I think the event will happen in the 1st half of July.

Yeah that would be about right towards the middle or end of this month for a date for July. I hope its on a day that Im not at work tho…

I am thinking second or third week of July. While we are in a pandemic, most people are on vacation during early July. I can’t wait for it to happen!
We just have to wait and see. No date announcement has been made. Honestly I’m ok with that, I don’t want to be let down by them having to move the date again. As long as it’s in July. They probably want to keep the date vague until we’re close. Sony had to delay their big showcase but now it is back on. So as long as there is no earth shaking event in July, We’ll get to see Microsoft’s first party lineup sometime in that month.

On topic, as others have stated, no date yet on the first party game reveal. Also, I think there’s a game of cat and mouse between Xbox and Playstation when talking price and release dates, I genuinely think they’ll both wait until the last possible minute for that show, if it’s a separate show at all.

Yes, PlayStation and Xbox do compete with each other on their price. Anyways, the time is drawing closer and I am really wondering what to expect from Halo: Infinite.

This. And Sony is showing their stuff tomorrow so it’ll be interesting to see if they mention a price. Because if they do…MS will be going cheaper. Mark my words. Especially if they actually do have that rumored second console without the disk drive and all that.
Pushing back Infinite news is all part of that scheme of cat and mouse. Sony forced MS to be the mouse a few times too often, MS is trying to reverse it this time.

I assumed the 20/20 event was literally just July 20 2020 or 20/20 for short…either that or there marketing has been very confusing.
Microsoft are a bit gun shy. With the Xbox One launch they took big risks with their plans to ditch physical copies of games (they were about 3 years too early)… and Sony burnt them badly with their contrast and undercut on price.
They really want to see some sort of commitment by Sony before playing their hand.
And there may be the complication of the rumoured Lockhart console. Microsoft may only want to release this early if the two big guns go out at a higher price. It may not be needed straight away if there is a price war on release.
Was going to create a thread and ask them to announce the date. Maybe there will be some sort of teaser trailer with the date announcement?
There is still something happening in June.
Something “a bit different to the usual Xbox Insider”.
Probably some strategically placed teasers to try and keep the focus off Sony until the main course in July.
My guess is 3rd week of July. I hope they give us a little more detail, like how much gameplay to expect, and if it’s going to be a montage, or footage from a person’s actuall viewpoint during gameplay.

I thought I had head July 15th, but those were pure speculation from friends and fellow Halo fans. There is no date confirmed, but if the May event is anything to go off of, its probably going to be at the beginning of July. Hopefully we get a hard date within the next two weeks (as of June 11th).

All I know is, I think having it in July is a dumb time. People are outside more, going away on vacations (Even during a pandemic like going to your cottage) And I feel personally that there’s just less media coverage in general then.
All I can say is it better be the first week of July otherwise I think they are waiting way too long after Sony. Sony is already getting the media attention and whatever they show will get talked about. So Microsoft is going to have to blow the roof off their show to steal away some of that thunder, And as much as I like Xbox, I kind of feel like that’s going to be difficult for them to do.
I really hope they have an Ace up their sleeve and this show knocks it out of the park.

They aren’t necessarily waiting too long. Letting Sony’s buzz die out for a month, then showing off your product closer to the release date could be a good call. For example, if they announced all their stuff next week, Sony would have gotten a week of buzz solo, but Xbox would still have to share the limelight. Let Sony’s buzz die down, and people get hyped for Xbox again.

I don’t think they’ll wait that long. I say most likely the event is in the 1st half of the month. They’ve seriously got to get the ball rolling, as we are now at max, 6 months away from launch.
My money is on July 7th.
